Modeling the COVID-19 epidemic in Croatia: a comparison of three analytic approaches.
To facilitate the development of a COVID-19 predictive model in Croatia by analyzing three different methodological approaches. ⋯ Predicting future epidemic events remains difficult because modeling relies on the accuracy of the information on population structure and micro-environmental exposures, constant changes of the input parameters, varying societal adherence to anti-epidemic measures, and changes in the biological interactions of the virus and hosts.

Experience with comprehensive pharmacogenomic multi-gene panel in clinical practice: a retrospective single-center study.
To assess the prevalence of actionable pharmacogenetic interventions in patients who underwent pharmacogenetic testing with a multi-gene panel. ⋯ Two out of three patients had at least one drug-gene pair in their therapy. Further studies should assess the clinical effectiveness of integrating pharmacogenomic data into patients' electronic health records.

Meta AnalysisGenetic sub-structuring of Croatian island populations in the Southeastern European context: a meta-analysis.
To use the method of meta-analysis to assess the influence of island population isolation on the sub-structuring of the Croatian population, as well as the influence of regional population groups on the sub-structuring of the Southeastern European population with regard to basic population genetic statistical parameters calculated by using STR locus analysis. ⋯ The higher structure of Croatian subpopulations in relation to Southeastern Europe suggest a certain degree of genetic isolation, most likely due to the influence of endogamy within rural island populations.

Human whole mitochondrial genome sequencing and analysis: optimization of the experimental workflow.
To evaluate critical steps in Illumina® Human mtDNA Genome assay: target enrichment, limited-cycle PCR, and library normalization, in order to optimize the protocol for analysis of whole mitochondrial genomes from human reference samples. ⋯ Optimizations described herein provide beneficial insights for laboratories aiming at implementation and/or advancement of similar massively parallel sequencing workflows (eg, small genomes, PCR amplicons, and plasmids).

The construction of the Split Sleep Questionnaire on sleep habits during the COVID-19 pandemic in the general population.
To construct a single-format questionnaire on sleep habits and mood before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in the general population. ⋯ The SSQ provides a valid, reliable, and efficient screening tool for the assessment of sleep habits and associated factors in the general population during the COVID-19 pandemic.
