HISTOPATHOLOGIC PARAMETERS OF POSITIVE LYMPH NODE PREDICTABILITY IN ENDOMETRIAL CANCER.
Endometrial cancer is the most common malignancy of the female reproductive tract. Lymph node metastases are an important prognostic factor in endometrial cancer. Several prognostic factors have been shown to correlate with lymph node metastasis, including depth of myometrial invasion, cervical infiltration, histologic grade of the tumor, tumor diameter, histology type, lymphovascular invasion, and positive peritoneal cytology. ⋯ In conclusion, histopathologic parameters such as type 2 endometrial cancer, myometrial invasion depth greater than 50%, cervical stroma infiltration, lymphovascular invasion and positive peritoneal cytology increased the likelihood of lymph node metastases. Tumor size (>2 cm), as well as histologic grade did not correlate with a higher incidence of lymph node metastases. In this study, both parametrial infiltration and the number of lymph nodes removed were found to have clinical relevance but not statistical significance.

EFFICACY OF A LIPID-LOWERING DIET ON KEY FATTY ACID RATIOS AND OMEGA-3 INDEX IN HYPERLIPIDEMIC SUBJECTS.
Polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) dietary intake, status and serum key fatty acid (FA) ratios may aid in cardiovascular disease-related risk assessment. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of lipid-lowering diet on key FA ratios in serum phospholipids and omega-3 index in erythrocyte phospholipids in moderately hyperlipidemic subjects. The study included 41 subjects, mean age 56±6 years. ⋯ Total cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL)/HDL and triacylglycerol/HDL-cholesterol ratios positively correlated with all FA ratios, and negatively correlated with total omega-3 levels in serum phospholipids and omega-3 index in erythrocytes. Total serum omega-3 levels showed strongest association with lipoprotein ratios and positive correlation with homeostatic model assessment (HOMA) index. In conclusion, lipid-lowering diet resulted in decreased serum key FA ratios, increased omega-3 levels, and improved insulin sensitivity that may lead to a lower risk of cardiovascular disease in subjects with moderate hyperlipidemia.

THE INCIDENCE OF COMORBID MENTAL AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS IN PATIENTS WITH POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER.
There is a small body of research about mental and physical comorbidity in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) patients despite the fact that some psychiatric disorders and physical conditions are commonly comorbid with PTSD. In this study, we researched the relationship between PTSD and its mental and physical comorbidities by comparing the number of patient hospitalizations across two ten-year periods. Our sample consisted of 2761 patients with warfare PTSD hospitalized during the 20-year period (1999-2018). ⋯ Furthermore, no significant difference was found in the number of hospitalizations between the two ten-year periods for the group of PTSD patients with mental comorbidity. We argued that both mental and physical comorbidities along with PTSD are needed to induce a significantly higher level of distress in patients, resulting in a higher number of hospitalizations after a longer period of time. Patients with the most severe conditions and comorbidity have a greater need to seek help from mental health professionals as their mental and physical state deteriorates to a higher degree when not in the treatment of any kind.

LENS CARE COMPLIANCE RATES AND PERCEPTIONS AMONG RIGID GAS PERMEABLE CONTACT LENS WEARERS - A PILOT STUDY.
The aim was to estimate compliance rate among rigid gas permeable lens wearers (RGPLW) in lens system care, identify procedures in lens care process with poorest compliance levels, and assess concordance between participant reported practices and their subjectively perceived compliance. The study included outpatient RGPLW managed at Zagreb University Hospital Center in Zagreb, Croatia. They filled out a questionnaire that included demographic data, duration of lens wear, self-evaluation compliance grade, and 14 lens care procedures and wearing habits indicative of compliance. ⋯ RGPLW were aware of their inappropriate lens care only when achieved non-compliance in almost 50% of the procedures. In conclusion, lens wearers were not aware of their extremely low compliance rate in several aspects of lens and lens case maintenance. Study results indicated the key procedures the practitioners should focus on when evaluating subjective and objective compliance and reinforcing care and hygiene education of RGPLW.

URINARY BLADDER CANCER RECURRENCE AND EXPRESSION OF LYNCH AND HER MARKERS: SEARCHING FOR IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL PATTERNS AMONG 113 TUMORS FROM 33 PATIENTS.
The aim was to identify immunohistochemical (IHC) markers able to predict recurrence of urinary bladder tumors. The method of multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS) was applied to IHC data of 33 patients with urinary bladder cancer that relapsed one to six times (24 male and nine female, age 57-87 years). The MARS analysis was used to predict the total number of recurrences and the Ki-67 value by nine IHC markers (epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), HER2, HER3, E-cadherin, Ki-67, MLH1, MSH2, MSH6 and PMS2). ⋯ The finding of E-cadherin was not found relevant by any of these MARS models. In conclusion, the MARS results associated multiple IHC markers with the number of recurrences and with Ki-67 values. It is important that differences in predictive markers were found between initial tumors and first recurrences, and between quick and slow recurrences, thus suggesting that tumor biology is different among these subgroups regarding the total number of recurrences and Ki-67 values.
