The journey of medical school is a roller coaster ride and learning how to survive is going to take much effort. Being consistent and having a reason that pushes you every moment, support from friends and family, and guidance from seniors can ease this pathway. Though it can be hypothetical to say that these measures would help comfortably sail through the medical journey, experiences and learnings gained at a similar cost of effort are undeniable and they can certainly make a difference. Perseverance, determination and motivation are essential to keep the flame burning. ⋯ learning; medical students; medical school.

Case ReportsRecurrent Ischemic Stroke in a Patient with Atrial Myxoma: A Case Report.
Cardiac myxoma is an infrequent but curable cause of ischemic stroke. There are no guidelines addressing the timing of surgery to excise the tumour or for the use of thrombolysis or thrombectomy. We present a case with an ischemic stroke which was diagnosed to have atrial myxoma. She was planned for surgical excision of the tumour but suffered from a second ischemic stroke while awaiting surgery. This article aims to highlight vital aspects of this rare phenomenon and discuss the prospects of the timing of surgery and neurosurgical intervention. The importance of a proper cardiac evaluation in all cases of stroke is highlighted. ⋯ cardiac tumour; myxoma; cardiac surgery; ischemic stroke.

Dysgerminoma is the most common malignant germ cell tumour of the ovary. Abdominal pain, abdominal distention, and the presence of a palpable mass are common symptoms at presentation. This is usually detected in youth, before the age of 20 years. Ovarian or adnexal tumours are very rare in patients below the age of 18 years, most of them being functional cysts, only 10% being malignant. Here is a rare case of an 8 years old girl with dysgerminoma who underwent right-sided salpingo-oophorectomy for unilateral involvement with conservation of fertility and now the patient is on chemotherapy as the tumour metastasized to the pre-aortic lymph node. ⋯ case reports; dysgerminoma; metastasis; paediatrics.
