Collateral Development in Patients Undergoing Coronary Angiography in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Coronary artery disease is one of the major cardiovascular diseases affecting the global human population. When the primary stenotic or blocked channel fails to deliver enough blood to the myocardium, the coronary collateral circulation serves as a backup source of blood supply. The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of collateral development in patients undergoing coronary angiography in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ angiography; artery; blood circulation; prevalence.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease among Patients Visiting the Emergency Department of a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross- sectional Study.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is characterised by persistent airflow limitation which is usually progressive and is the primary global cause of morbidity and mortality. It is the third leading cause of Years Lived with Disability, the second most common cause of death after ischemic heart disease, and the fourth most common cause of premature death. The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease among patients visiting the emergency department of a tertiary care centre. ⋯ chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; emergency departments; prevalence.

Case ReportsPlasma Cell Vulvitis Treated with Platelet-rich Plasma: A Case Report.
Plasma cell vulvitis is a rare inflammatory disorder of the vulva with an unknown aetiology, characterised by mucosal inflammation. It commonly manifests as pain, itching, dyspareunia, and dysuria and clinically presents as erythematous plaque and macules on the vulva. This condition is refractory to available treatment modalities in the literature. We present a case of a 70-year-old female with histopathologically proven plasma cell vulvitis treated by platelet-rich plasma therapy after multiple failed treatment attempts with topical steroids and immunomodulators. The patient improved both symptomatically and clinically on follow-up with platelet-rich plasma therapy. Platelet-rich plasma which is a new novel treatment can be a therapeutic option for recalcitrant cases of plasma cell vulvitis. ⋯ case report; immunosuppressant; platelet-rich plasma; vulvitis.

Knowledge of Glasgow Coma Scale among Nurses in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Glasgow Coma Scale is a dependable and unprejudiced neurological evaluation kit applied for evaluating and recording the level of consciousness of a person. Evaluation of consciousness level using Glasgow Coma Scale is a tool necessitating knowledge which is vital in identifying immediate worsening of level of consciousness. Critical thinking used with skill and knowledge in Glasgow Coma Scale is the groundwork of nursing practice to avoid delay in clinical worsening and treatment. The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of inadequate knowledge of Glasgow Coma Scale among nurses working in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ glasgow coma scale; knowledge; nurses; tertiary care centre.

Meconium-stained Amniotic Fluid among Term Deliveries in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Although the precise aetiology of meconium-stained amniotic fluid is still unclear, risk factors include advanced gestational age at delivery, mode of delivery, the prolonged second stage of labour, and intrauterine infection. It has been associated with poor perinatal outcomes including low Apgar scores, increased incidence of neonatal intensive care admission, and a high rate of perinatal death. The objective of the study was to find out the prevalence of meconium-stained amniotic fluid in term deliveries in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ apgar score; caesarean section; gestational age; perinatal death; pregnancy.
