Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolates among Clinical Samples showing Growth in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Carbapenems resistance due to metallo-beta-lactamase production in Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a major concern which is increasing globally resulting in limited therapeutic choices. This study aimed to find out the prevalence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates among clinical samples showing growth of a tertiary care centre. ⋯ beta-lactamase; multidrug resistant; Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Ampicillinase C Beta-lactamase Producers among Isolates of Enterobacteriaceae in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Ampicillinase C beta-lactamase-producing organisms are often resistant to multiple antimicrobial agents, and therapeutic options against these pathogens are limited. Limited information is available regarding Ampicillinase C beta-lactamase producers. The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of Ampicillinase C beta-lactamase producers among isolates of Enterobacteriaceae in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ antibiotic; beta-lactamase; Enterobacteriaceae; gram-negative bacteria.

Surgical Management among Patients with Spontaneous Supratentorial Intracerebral Haemorrhage Admitted in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage is the second most common form of stroke and the most deadly one. An understanding of changing trends in the epidemiology of intracerebral haemorrhage prevalence, its risk factors, current practice in management, case fatality, and long-term outcome is essential to measure the effectiveness of stroke prevention and various treatment efforts. The objective of this study was to find out the prevalence of surgical management among patients with spontaneous supratentorial intracerebral haemorrhage in a tertiary centre. ⋯ intracerebral haemorrhage; mortality; surgical procedure.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease among Patients Visiting the Emergency Department of a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross- sectional Study.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is characterised by persistent airflow limitation which is usually progressive and is the primary global cause of morbidity and mortality. It is the third leading cause of Years Lived with Disability, the second most common cause of death after ischemic heart disease, and the fourth most common cause of premature death. The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease among patients visiting the emergency department of a tertiary care centre. ⋯ chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; emergency departments; prevalence.

Knowledge of Glasgow Coma Scale among Nurses in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Glasgow Coma Scale is a dependable and unprejudiced neurological evaluation kit applied for evaluating and recording the level of consciousness of a person. Evaluation of consciousness level using Glasgow Coma Scale is a tool necessitating knowledge which is vital in identifying immediate worsening of level of consciousness. Critical thinking used with skill and knowledge in Glasgow Coma Scale is the groundwork of nursing practice to avoid delay in clinical worsening and treatment. The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of inadequate knowledge of Glasgow Coma Scale among nurses working in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ glasgow coma scale; knowledge; nurses; tertiary care centre.
