Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
Periprostatic nerve block alone versus combined with perineal pudendal nerve block or intrarectal local anesthesia during transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy: A prospective randomized controlled trial.
To compare the efficacy, safety and cost of combinations of perineal pudendal nerve block + periprostatic nerve block and intrarectal local anesthesia + periprostatic nerve block with the standard technique (periprostatic nerve block). ⋯ The combination of perineal pudendal nerve block and periprostatic nerve block provides more effective pain control than intrarectal local anesthesia plus periprostatic nerve block and periprostatic nerve block alone, with similar complication rates and without increasing cost.

Abiraterone acetate for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer after docetaxel failure: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 3 bridging study.
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of abiraterone acetate-prednisone versus placebo-prednisone in Asian metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer patients who have failed docetaxel-based chemotherapy. ⋯ Abiraterone-prednisone significantly delays disease and pain progression, and prostate-specific antigen, with a favorable benefit-risk ratio in Asian metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer patients in the post-docetaxel setting.

Transperitoneal versus extraperitoneal robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy: A prospective single surgeon randomized comparative study.
To compare operative, pathological, and functional results of transperitoneal and extraperitoneal robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy carried out by a single surgeon. ⋯ Extraperitoneal robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy seems to be a good alternative to transperitoneal robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy with similar operative, pathological and functional results. As the surgical field remains away from the bowel, postoperative return to normal diet and early discharge can be favored.

Running suture versus interrupted suture for vesicourethral anastomosis in retropubic radical prostatectomy: a randomized study.
To determine the feasibility of vesicourethral anastomosis using running suture during retropubic radical prostatectomy and to compare the surgical outcomes of vesicourethral anastomosis using running suture with those of the standard interrupted suture technique. ⋯ Running suture for vesicourethral anastomosis is feasible during retropubic radical prostatectomy. Furthermore, it offers better outcomes than the conventional standard interrupted suture technique, with a higher likelihood of improvement in patients' health-related quality of life.

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy in the treatment of erectile dysfunction: a prospective, randomized, double-blinded, placebo controlled study.
To investigate the role of low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. ⋯ The present trial shows the tolerability and clinical efficacy of low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy in a subgroup of patients with erectile dysfunction.
