Comparative StudyA Propensity Matched Comparison for Open and Endovascular Treatment of Post-carotid Endarterectomy Restenosis.
To compare results of open and endovascular management of post-carotid endarterectomy (CEA) restenosis. ⋯ CAS and redo CEA in patients with post-CEA restenosis provided similar peri-operative results in a sample of equivalent patients. CAS patients had better follow-up results in terms of secondary restenosis and re-interventions. Further analysis is required with a larger number of patients and a longer follow-up time.

Fenestrated Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair Using Physician Modified Stent Grafts for Acute Type B Aortic Dissection with Unfavourable Landing Zone.
The aim was to evaluate the early results of fenestrated thoracic endovascular aortic repair (fTEVAR) using physician modified stent grafts (PMSGs) to revascularise aortic branches for acute type B aortic dissection (ABAD) with unfavourable proximal landing zone. ⋯ fTEVAR using PMSGs may be a viable alternative for patients who present with ABAD without healthy proximal landing zones and who are unable to wait for a custom made fenestrated device.

Comparative StudyTreatment of Femoral Vein Obstruction Concomitant with Iliofemoral Stenting in Patients with Severe Post-thrombotic Syndrome.
The aim was to assess the clinical and anatomical outcomes of iliofemoral stenting, with concomitant femoral stenting or balloon angioplasty alone, in patients with severe post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) and compromised inflow. ⋯ Stent placement to treat post-thrombotic iliofemoral obstruction with concomitant obstructed femoral vein but patent profunda vein shows cumulative patency rates and clinical outcomes similar to previous reports. Adjunctive femoral stenting or angioplasty of the obstructed femoral vein does not appear to improve clinical or stent outcomes in patients with severe PTS.

EditorialEditor's Choice - Late Open Surgical Conversion after Endovascular Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair.
Late open surgical conversion following endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) may occur more frequently after performing EVAR in anatomy outside the instructions for use (IFU). This study reviews predictors and outcomes of late open surgical conversion for failed EVAR. ⋯ Open surgical conversion following EVAR results in significant morbidity and mortality. IFU adherence of EVARs later requiring open surgical conversion is markedly low. More data are required to elucidate the impact of increasing liberalisation of EVAR outside of IFU.

EditorialEditor's Choice - High Annual Hospital Volume is Associated with Decreased in Hospital Mortality and Complication Rates Following Treatment of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms: Secondary Data Analysis of the Nationwide German DRG Statistics from 2005 to 2013.
The aim of this study was to analyse the association between annual hospital procedural volume and post-operative outcomes following repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) in Germany. ⋯ In hospital mortality and complication rates following AAA repair are inversely associated with annual hospital volume. The use of blood products and the LOS are lower in high volume hospitals. A minimum annual case threshold for AAA procedures might improve post-operative results.
