Multicenter Study
Associations of egg consumption with cardiovascular disease in a cohort study of 0.5 million Chinese adults.
To examine the associations between egg consumption and cardiovascular disease (CVD), ischaemic heart disease (IHD), major coronary events (MCE), haemorrhagic stroke as well as ischaemic stroke. ⋯ Among Chinese adults, a moderate level of egg consumption (up to <1 egg/day) was significantly associated with lower risk of CVD, largely independent of other risk factors.

Characteristics and outcomes of adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and atrial fibrillation.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is associated with the development of atrial fibrillation (AF), and may complicate treatment of AF. We examined the association between COPD and symptoms, quality of life (QoL), treatment and outcomes among patients with AF. ⋯ NCT01165710.

Comparative Study
Using alternatives to the car and risk of all-cause, cardiovascular and cancer mortality.
To investigate the associations between using alternatives to the car which are more active for commuting and non-commuting purposes, and morbidity and mortality. ⋯ More active patterns of travel were associated with a reduced risk of incident and fatal CVD and all-cause mortality in adults. This is an important message for clinicians advising people about how to be physically active and reduce their risk of disease.
