Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Immediate Oral Refeeding in Patients With Mild and Moderate Acute Pancreatitis: A Multicenter, Randomized Controlled Trial (PADI trial).
To establish the optimal time to start oral refeeding in mild and moderate acute pancreatitis (AP) to reduce hospital length-of-stay (LOS) and complications. ⋯ IORF is safe and feasible in mild and moderate AP, resulting in significantly shorter LOS and cost savings, without causing adverse effects or complications.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Association of Surgical Resident Wellness With Medical Errors and Patient Outcomes.
The aims of this study were to: (1) measure the prevalence of self-reported medical error among general surgery trainees, (2) assess the association between general surgery resident wellness (ie, burnout and poor psychiatric well-being) and self-reported medical error, and (3) examine the association between program-level wellness and objectively measured patient outcomes. ⋯ Although surgical residents with poor wellness were more likely to self-report a harmful medical error, there was not a higher rate of objectively reported outcomes for surgical patients treated at hospitals with higher rates of burnout or poor psychiatric well-being.

A Randomised Clinical Trial Evaluating the Efficacy and Quality of Life of Antibiotic Only Treatment of Acute Uncomplicated Appendicitis: Results of the COMMA trial.
Evaluate the efficacy and quality of life associated with conservative treatment of acute uncomplicated appendicitis. ⋯ Patients with acute, uncomplicated appendicitis treated with antibiotics only experience high recurrence rates and an inferior quality of life. Surgery should remain the mainstay of treatment for this commonly encountered acute surgical condition.

Art Heals: Randomized Controlled Study Investigating the Effect of a Dedicated In-House Art Gallery on the Recovery of Patients following Major Oncologic Surgery.
We sought to investigate the effect of exposure to a dedicated art gallery during the perioperative period on the recovery of patients undergoing major oncologic procedures. ⋯ Dedicated exposure to art was associated with improved hope, anxiety, and mental well-being of patients after major oncologic surgery.

Randomized Controlled Trial
A Randomized Phase II Trial of Adjuvant Hepatic Arterial Infusion and Systemic Therapy with or without Panitumumab after Hepatic Resection of KRAS Wild-Type Colorectal Cancer.
The purpose was to determine whether adding Pmab versus no Pmab to an adjuvant regimen of hepatic arterial infusion (HAI) of floxuridine (FUDR) plus systemic (SYS) leucovorin, fluorouracil, and irinotecan (FOLFIRI) improves 15-month recurrence-free survival for patients with RAS wild-type colorectal cancer. Secondary endpoints included overall survival, toxicity, and influence of predictive biomarkers. ⋯ The addition of Pmab to HAI FUDR + SYS FOLFIRI showed promising activity without increased biliary toxicity and should be further investigated in a larger trial.
