Early-Onset (EO) pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (PanNET) is a rare disease, but whether it is clinically different from late-onset (LO) PanNET is unknown. Our study aimed to evaluate clinical differences and disease outcomes between EO-PanNET and LO-PanNET and to compare sporadic EO-PanNET with those with a hereditary syndrome. ⋯ In this surgical cohort, we found that EO-PanNET is associated with hereditary syndromes but has pathologic characteristics and oncological outcomes similar to LO-PanNET. These findings suggest that patients with EO-PanNET can be managed similarly to those with LO-PanNET.

To determine the association of sex with access to liver transplantation among candidates with the highest possible model for end-stage liver disease score (MELD 40). ⋯ Even among candidates with high disease severity and equally high MELD scores, women have reduced access to liver transplantation and worse outcomes compared with men. Policies addressing this disparity should consider factors beyond MELD score adjustments alone.

To examine the short-term outcomes after laparoscopic intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM) compared with robot-assisted retromuscular repair of small to medium-sized ventral hernia. ⋯ For patients undergoing first-time repair of a ventral hernia, robot-assisted retromuscular repair was associated with a significantly reduced incidence of prolonged length of postoperative hospital stay and risk of 90-day readmission compared to laparoscopic IPOM.

To compare the representation of intersectional (ie, racial/ethnic and gender) identities among surgical faculty versus medical students. ⋯ URiM faculty representation has not improved despite a positive association between having more URiM male faculty and having more diverse students.

To elucidate the potential usage of continuous feedback regarding team satisfaction and correlations with operative performance and patient outcomes. ⋯ This study demonstrates the feasibility of a dynamic survey platform to report actionable health care provider satisfaction metrics in real-time. Team satisfaction is associated with modifiable team variables and some key operational outcomes. Leveraging qualitative measurements of teamwork as operational indicators may augment staff engagement and measures of performance.
