Case ReportsAngioembolisation for the Treatment of Pseudo-aneurysm of Internal Maxillary Artery.
Pseudo-aneurysm of internal maxillary artery, following a road traffic accident, is a rare clinical scenario. The consequence of pseudo-aneurysm may be spontaneous rupture of the arterial wall, which may eventually lead to life-threatening hemorrhage. ⋯ Similar cases of traumatic pseudo-aneurysms have been reported, however, none presented with recurrent epistaxis after management of pan-facial fractures. Key Words: Epistaxis, Pseudo-aneurysm, Angioembolisation, Pan-facial fracture.

Is Intraoperative Leak Test Required in Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy?
To investigate the efficacy of intraoperative leak test (IOLT) by methylene blue to identify the presence of leak during standardised sleeve gastrectomy (SG) procedure. ⋯ The routine use of an IOLT did not reduce the incidence of postoperative leak. IOLT should not be routinely performed, rather it would be appropriate for selected patients. Key Words: Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, Intraoperative leak test, Stapler line leak.

Efficacy and Safety of Phosphate Enema as a therapeutic agent in Hypophosphatemia in Critically Ill Children.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of oral administration of phosphorous enema in hypophosphatemia (HP) in critically ill children admitted in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) of The Indus Hospital, Karachi, from September 2018 to August 2019. This was a retrospective review of 31 critically ill children with hypophosphatemia who received 1 ml/kg/day of phosphate enema through nasogastric tube or orally for phosphate replacement, with serial phosphorus level monitoring along with observation for its side effects. ⋯ Sample size although limited, it is safe to state that oral phosphate enema is safe and effective for correction of hypophosphatemia in critically ill children. Key Words: Hypophosphatemia, Enema, Pediatric intensive care unit.

Ultrasound-assisted Percutaneous Vertebroplasty in Upper and Mid-thoracic Osteoporotic Fracture.
Osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) is a common disease among the elderly individuals. With the aging of the population development, the incidence of OVCF is increasing. Cementation of vertebral body like percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) is a minimally invasive and effective treatment. ⋯ Inaccurate puncture and high radiation exposure of PVP in upper and mid-thoracic vertebrae still challenge surgeons. Owing to the ability of musculoskeletal ultrasound in revealing the clear real-time view of soft tissues and skeleton, the authors use intraoperative ultrasound-guided PVP to treat eight patients with upper or mid-thoracic vertebra body OVCFs, which has been tested to be a safe, feasible and satisfied technique after the operation and follow-up. To the authors' knowledge, this technique has not been reported elsewhere. Key Words: Ultrasound, Percutaneous vertebroplasty, Osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture, Upper and mid-thoracic vertebra body.
