Observational StudyAn Evaluation of the Effect of Preoperative Inflammation-based Factors on Survival in Gastric Cancer Patients.
To investigate the predictive effect of preoperative inflammatory factors on overall survival (OS) in patients diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC). ⋯ Inflammation-based factors including AST-ALT ratio and albumin can help assess prognosis in patients with gastric cancer in standard clinical preoperative tests. Key Words: Gastric cancer, Inflammation-based factors, Aspartate transaminase-alanine aminotransaminase ratio, Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio, Platelet-lymphocyte ratio, Albumin, Tumor-node-metastasis staging, Overall survival.

Progression and Resolution of COVID-19 Pneumonia on Chest Radiograph.
To evaluate the temporal changes on serial chest radiographs (CXRs)of hospitalised COVID-19 positive patients till their outcome(discharge/death); to determine the severity of CXR score and its correlation with clinical outcome (hospital stay, chest intubation and mortality). ⋯ Serial chest radiography can be used to monitor disease progression and temporal changes after initial HRCT. Patients who have CXR severity score of 4 or more at the time of admission, is a red flag for prolonged hospital stay and possible intubation. Severity of CXR findings peaked at 10-13 days. It is recommended to repeat CXRs every 3-4th day during hospital stay. Majority of the patients has residual radiographic abnormality on discharge. Key Words: COVID-19, Radiography, Thoracic, Pandemic, Chest X-ray.

Use of Shock Index and Lactate to Predict Mortality in Acute Heart Failure Patients in Emergency Department.
To compare the usefulness of shock index (SI) and lactate for prediction of 24-hour and 28-day mortality in acute heart failure (AHF) patients. ⋯ Lactate level and SI of AHF patients calculated in ED triage may be used to predict mortality, and simultaneous use of both parameters may be more helpful. Key Words: Acute heart failure, Emergency department, Lactate, Mortality, Shock index.

CROSS or FLOT in Distal Esophageal and Gastroesophageal Cancer.
To compare the chemoradiotherapy for esophageal cancer followed by surgery study (CROSS) and continuous infusion 5-FU, leucovorin, oxaliplatin, and docetaxel (FLOT) protocols administered in distal esophageal and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) tumors in terms of effectiveness and toxicity. ⋯ A total of 25 patients (44.6%) were treated with CROSS protocol (15 distal esophageal and 10 GEJ tumor), 31 patients (55.4%) with GEJ tumors were treated with the FLOT regimen. Eight of the patients who were administered the CROSS protocol before the operation demonstrated complete pathologicial response, no patients in the FLOT group had complete response to the treatment. In patients with GEJ tumors and ADC histopathology, CROSS and FLOT group had similar second years survival (60% and 59.3%, respectively) (p = 0.803). The frequency of neutropenia was significantly higher in the CROSS group compared to the FLOT group (p = 0.004.) Conclusion: Postoperative pathological response rate in the CROSS group was significantly higher compared to the FLOT group. CROSS and FLOT protocols contributed to survival similarly in patients with GEJ ADC, hematological side effects were more pronounced in patients receiving CRT. Key Words: GEJ cancer, Esophageal cancer, Cross, Flot.

Observational StudyEffect of Differences in Thorax Volume and Dimensions on CPR-related Injuries.
To investigate the relationship between the prevalence of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) related thoracic injury and patients' thoracic volume and dimensions. ⋯ Lower thorax volume and sagittal dimensions were associated with an increased prevalence of traumatic findings. Key Words: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Thoracic injuries, Pneumothorax, Rib fracture.
