Comparison of Balloon Trocar versus Telescopic Dissection Method for TEP Inguinal Hernia Repair.
To compare the outcomes between two methods of dissection (balloon trocar vs. telescopic dissection) used in total extra-peritoneal (TEP) inguinal hernia repair. ⋯ Telescopic dissection was cheaper than balloon dissection. The bleeding values and operating time were similar between the two methods, but telescopic dissection caused more postoperative pain. Case ReportsTopiramate-induced Acute Transient Myopia and Angle Narrowing.
Sulphamate drugs, widely prescribed for various systemic conditions, are reported to have rare ocular adverse-effects, usually within weeks of initiation of treatment. Medical and drug history in such cases are of pivotal importance in reaching a proper diagnosis. This study reports three cases, which developed topiramate-induced ocular side effects. ⋯ Also, in the third case, there were no macular striae. Topiramate was immediately withheld and all cases were improved without any permanent ocular damage. Key Words: Sulphamate, Topiramate, Angle closure glaucoma, Myopia.

Flap Monitoring using Thermal Imaging Camera: A Contactless Method.
To determine the accuracy of the thermal imaging camera for the detection of vascular insult before the onset of permanent tissue damage. ⋯ Thermal imaging camera is an effective and useful adjunct for clinical assessment, as it is an easy and contactless technique. Psychological Burden amongst Caregivers of Patients on Maintenance Haemodialysis.
Long-term caregiving is a difficult job, risking mental health of involved individuals. This study was planned to document magnitude of the problem at Pak Emirates Military Hospital, Rawalpindi, with an aim to improve quality of life in caregivers and patients alike. From January to June 2019, caregivers accompanying haemodialysis patients were selected using consecutive sampling technique. ⋯ Males had lower scores than females (28.01 ± 11.18 vs. 35.22 ± 14.65, respectively; p= 0.026). Gender of caregivers significantly predicted ZBI scores; while their age, job status, education, monthly income and duration of caregiving did not. Atypical polypoid adenomyoma (APAM) is a rare polypoidal benign tumor of uterus, which usually presents with irregular vaginal bleeding in women of reproductive age. It has the potential of malignant transformation but does not metastasise. It may coexist with endometrial hyperplasia and adenocarcinoma; and so, is usually misdiagnosed. ⋯ A 25-year woman with irregular vaginal bleeding and abdominal mass had total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH) on suspicion of endometrial sarcoma. Histopathology specimen revealed APAM. On follow-up so far, she is in stable condition and asymptomatic. Key Words: Atypical polypoid adenomyosis, Adenosarcoma, Endometrial carcinoma.
