Pregnant outcomes of atypical polypoid adenomyoma treated with progestin therapy.
We aimed to investigate the long-term clinical and pregnancy outcome in patients with atypical polypoid adenomyoma (APA) after hysteroscopic excision. ⋯ Fertility-sparing surgery under hysteroscopy with progesterone therapy and appropriate assistant reproduction technology is an alternative option for young APA patients. However, close follow-up is required for these patients.

Cost effectiveness analysis of carbetocin during cesarean section in a high volume maternity unit.
To evaluate the cost effectiveness of carbetocin compared to oxytocin when used as prophylaxis against post-partum hemorrhage (PPH) during cesarean deliveries. ⋯ Reduction in retreatment, staffing requirements, transfusion and potential medication errors mitigates the higher index cost of carbetocin. From a pharmacoeconomic perspective, in the context of cesarean section, carbetocin was cost effective as prophylaxis against PPH. Ultimately, the relative value placed on the outcomes above and the individual unit's resources would influence the choice of uterotonic.

Increased maternal insulin resistance promotes placental growth and decreases placental efficiency in pregnancies with obesity and gestational diabetes mellitus.
Homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) was measured during pregnancy to analyze placental weight and efficiency in relation to maternal insulin resistance. ⋯ Increased maternal insulin resistance promoted placental growth and inhibited placental efficiency. Maternal insulin resistance may be one of the pathophysiological conditions responsible for altered placental size and function in pregnancies with obesity and GDM.

Scoring model to predict massive post-partum bleeding in pregnancies with placenta previa: A retrospective cohort study.
We aimed to identify factors associated with massive post-partum bleeding in pregnancies with placenta previa and to establish a scoring model to predict post-partum severe bleeding. ⋯ Our scoring model might provide useful information for prediction of massive post-partum bleeding in pregnancies with placenta previa.

Case ReportsRefractory thoracic endometriosis syndrome with bilateral hemothorax.
Thoracic endometriosis syndrome (TES) is a rare disorder presenting with catamenial pneumothorax, hemothorax, hemoptysis or pulmonary nodules. Bilateral involvement is uncommon, and only a very few cases have been reported in the literature. ⋯ Despite multiple surgical interventions, the patient continued to develop hemopneumothorax coinciding with menses. Remission was finally achieved with the addition of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist, highlighting the effectiveness of postoperative adjuvant hormone therapy and supporting a combined surgical and medical approach in the treatment of TES in patients who desire future fertility.
