Meta AnalysisAccuracy of pecarn decision rule in minor blunt head trauma in pediatric emergency department: A meta-analysis.
Paediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) is a useful Clinical Decision Support Tool (CDST) to identify traumatic brain injuries and reduce the use of head computed tomography (CT) scans among paediatric patients. The present Meta-analysis aims to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of the PECARN rule from 2009 to 2020 in children with a very low risk of blunt head trauma. ⋯ The present analysis indicates the PECARN decision tool as an accurate CDST in low-risk minor BHT cases in children below two years of age and can become a valuable tool in reducing Head CT scan overuse in paediatric emergency departments.

Meta AnalysisUse of aspirin in reduction of mortality of COVID-19 patients: A metanalysis.
COVID-19 infection, affecting every one of us from the last year. Emerging reports have indicated thromboembolism in serious cases of COVID-19. The aspirin is useful to reduce mortality of serious patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome without COVID-19. ⋯ The odd ratio was found to be 0.70 [0.63, 0.77] which indicates a lesser likelihood of having death in COVID-19 patients in aspirin group as compared with non-aspirin group. However, no effect 0.00 [-0.04, 0.04] was observed after the exclusion of outliers. Thus, further clinical evidence is required to make valid conclusion.

Epidemiological Factors in Patients with Dermatologic Conditions Referring to the Clinic of Traditional Persian Medicine: A Cross-sectional Study.
Many patients with chronic diseases often use traditional medicine, as well as conventional medicine. The aim of this study was to evaluate the epidemiological factors of patients with dermatological conditions referring to traditional Persian Medicine (TPM) clinic. ⋯ It seems that women with skin problems, including acne, eczema, and hair loss, were more likely to refer to the TPM clinic. Therefore, the development of TPM clinics in the dermatology field as a scientific and academic approach can be effective in the treatment of patients with dermatological conditions accompanied by traditional medicine.

Osteoporosis: Prevalence, awareness and pertinent risk factors in a cohort of elderly Asian population presenting with low-energy distal radius fractures.
This study aims to evaluate the awareness of osteoporosis and related risk factors in elderly Asian patients who present with distal radius fractures. The distal radius fracture is one of the most frequent fractures in the elderly cohort, owing to osteoporosis, and maybe a harbinger for further fractures, however, data is scarce regarding awareness of this condition among these patients. ⋯ We found a positive correlation between a patient's education status and osteoporosis awareness We believe that the role of the physician could be crucial in preventing further fractures in such patients via physician lead educational campaigns to target modifiable risk factors.

Potentially inappropriate medication use in elderly patients treated in intensive care units: a cross-sectional study using 2019 Beers, STOPP/v2 Criteria and EU(7)-PIM List.
To determine the prevalence of and the risk factors for Potentially Inappropriate Medication (PIM), the drug groups most commonly evaluated as PIMs in elderly patients in the ICUs by using 2019 Beers Criteria, STOPP version 2 (v2) Criteria and EU(7)-PIM List. The relation between mortality rate and length of ICU stay with PIMs was also examined. ⋯ In this study, the prevalence of PIM was determined higher in elderly patients in ICU. Our results supported that 2019 Beers Criteria for ICU patients seems to be more directive in detecting PIMs and determining the prognosis. Reducing the number of drugs administered may be the first step to decrease PIMs in elderly patients in ICU and to maintain the treatment safely.
