Association between coronary dominance pattern and left ventricular mass index; Is there a gender disparity?
Increased left ventricular mass index (LVMI) and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) are independent predictors of adverse cardiovascular events. However, little is known regarding the association between coronary circulation and LVMI. We aimed to investigate the association between coronary dominance and LVMI, and to demonstrate the impact of coronary dominance pattern on the emergence of LVH. ⋯ Coronary dominance pattern may significantly affect the LVMI, and it may be useful in the further risk stratification of female patients.

Serum miR-224, miR-760, miR-483-5p, miR-378 and miR-375 as potential novel biomarkers in rheumatoid arthritis.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory autoimmune disease which affects various tissues and organs mainly joints. Serum microRNAs are considered a new class of non-coding RNA which plays a vital role in pathogenesis of RA. ⋯ Early detection of RA could be achieved through evaluation of serum expression of miR-224, miR-760, miR-483-5p, miR-378 and miR-375 which also may be used as targets for treatment of patients with RA.

Observational StudyOvertreatment and undertreatment in a sample of elderly people with diabetes.
In older adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D), overtreatment remains prevalent and undertreatment ignored. The main objective is to estimate the prevalence and examine factors associated with potential overtreatment and undertreatment. ⋯ Potential overtreatment and undertreatment in older adults with T2D in routine clinical practice should guide the clinicians to balance the use of newer oral antidiabetic agents considering its safety profile regarding hypoglycemia.

Association of Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) with Disease Activity and Inflammatory Cytokines in the patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
This study aimed, at first, to assess Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) in participants with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and compare them with healthy controls. Then, to evaluate the association of DII with the risk of RA occurrence, the severity of disease, and systemic inflammation. ⋯ An inflammatory diet may act as a potential risk factor contributing to the development of RA and its severity. Therefore, dietary modification with the goal of reducing the DII score could be a beneficial strategy to improve the clinical outcomes in such patients.

Comparison of Stroke Cases with Other Neurological Diseases on the Basis of Hemogram Parameters.
This study aimed to examine the haemogram parameters, including the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), which is fast, easy and practical to determine, in stroke patients who present with more physiological stress and inflammation and compare them with patients presenting other neurological diseases. ⋯ In this study, significant data obtained by comparing the haemogram parameters of those with stroke and other neurological diseases are presented. All neurological diseases, especially acute stroke and its types, should be examined in future prospective, randomised and controlled studies with all haemogram parameters, especially the NLR. However, it should be noted that haematological parameters are more useful for group studies rather than determining the diagnosis of an individual patient.
