The pattern of hospital-community-home (HCH) nursing in tracheostomy patients with severe traumatic brain injury: is it feasible?
Tracheostomy is very common in patients with severe traumatic brain injury (TBI), long-term nursing care are needed for those patients. We aimed to evaluate the effects of hospital-community-home (HCH) nursing in those patients. ⋯ HCH nursing care is feasible in tracheostomy patients with severe TBI, future studies are needed to further evaluate the role of HCH nursing care.

Can the Hounsfield Unit Predict the Success of Medical Expulsive Therapy Using Silodosin in 4-10 mm Distal Ureteral Stones?
We aimed to investigate the predictive ability of the Hounsfield unit (HU) on non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) for the success of medical expulsive therapy (MET) using silodosin in distal ureteric stones of 4-10 mm. ⋯ In this study, HU and stone area values calculated on NCCT were found to be effective factors in predicting the treatment success for MET. Therefore, we consider that it would be useful to consider these parameters in the selection of an appropriate treatment for distal ureteric stones.

Efficacy of the fibrosis index for predicting end-stage renal disease in patients with antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis.
Kidney involvement is a major manifestation of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis (AAV) and may progress to end-stage renal disease (ESRD), requiring renal replacement therapy. Unfortunately, there is no reliable kidney-specific index for predicting the progression of renal disease to ESRD. The fibrosis index (FI) reflects the degree of fibrosis in chronic liver disease. This study aimed to investigate whether the FI at the time of diagnosis could predict the development of ESRD in AAV patients. ⋯ FI ≥ 1.72 at the time of diagnosis may be an independent predictive marker for ESRD in AAV patients.

Clinical spectrum and outcome of Immunoglobulin A vasculitis (Henoch-Schönlein purpura) in children: A Ten-Year Clinical Study.
Immunoglobulin A (IgA) vasculitis is the most common vasculitides of childhood. The aim of this study was to characterise the disease and identify clinical and laboratory factors associated with renal involvement. ⋯ The clinical profile of the disease in our cohort was similar to other reports. However, we have encountered a few severe and rare atypical presentations. Over a quarter of children in our setting had renal involvement. Children presenting with these risk factors need to be closely monitored and long-term follow-up is recommended.

Waterpipe smoking, internet addiction and depression: a public health problem trio?
Waterpipe smoking and Internet addiction may result in a new public health problem globally. This study aimed to explore waterpipe use among a large group of adolescents and its association with Internet use, mental health, primarily depression and their demographic characteristics. ⋯ We suggest that adolescents who are depressed and who use the Internet excessively are at an increased risk for waterpipe use, independent of income and parenteral education.
