Impact of metformin therapy on health-related quality of life outcomes in tuberculosis patients with diabetes mellitus in India: A prospective study.
To assess the impact of metformin use on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in tuberculosis (TB) patients who are presented with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). ⋯ Metformin therapy exerted favourable effects on HRQoL in patients with TB and T2DM and can be recommended as an adjuvant antitubercular drug in TB patients with co-morbidity of T2DM, unless contraindicated.

ReviewDo morbidity measures predict decline of activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living among older inpatients? A systematic review.
Older adults often suffer from multimorbidity, which results in hospitalisations. These are often associated with poor health outcomes such as functional dependence and mortality. The aim of this review was to summarise the current literature on the capacities of morbidity measures in predicting activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) amongst inpatients. ⋯ Morbidity measures are poor predictors for ADL or IADL decline amongst older inpatients and follow-up duration does not alter the performance of morbidity measures.

ReviewWhich Drugs Are Best for Overactive Bladder? From Patients' Expectations to Physicians' Decisions.
In order to help physicians determine which drugs are the best for treating overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms, this review considered three questions: what are the patient's expectations? What information is generated by the Multicriteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) model? What can physicians expect from medical treatments? ⋯ The MCDA model is useful for comparing the benefit-safety profiles of OAB drugs in order to equip clinicians with information on the drug that might best meet their patient's needs. Flexibly dosed fesoterodine appeared to be most efficacious in resolving urgency and urgency incontinence compared with other drugs, and resolution of urinary urgency appears to be associated with a reduced number of reported adverse events.

The lack of association between dietary antioxidant quality score with handgrip strength and handgrip endurance among Tehranian adults: a cross-sectional study from a Middle East country.
The association between dietary antioxidant quality score (DAQS) and handgrip strength (HS) and handgrip endurance (HE) is still unclear. We aimed to investigate whether adherence to dietary antioxidant quality score (DAQS) is associated with handgrip strength (HS) and handgrip endurance (HE) amongst adults in Tehran. ⋯ Our results revealed that no significant association between DAQS and HE and HS. It was found that more intake of selenium was positively linked to HE. Dietary intake of vitamin C and vitamin E are associated with higher relative muscle strength. It is evident that more prospective studies are needed to confirm the veracity of our results.
