Relationship between lymphovascular invasion and molecular subtypes in invasive breast cancer.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the relation between LVI and molecular subtypes in invasive breast cancers and to find out whether LVI which is a histopathologic indicator has a role in subtype classification or not. ⋯ As a result, we found that LVI can affect molecular subtypes. This showed that a histopathological factor may affect tumour biology. In other words, breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease with many different predictors and prognostic variables.

Impaired thiol/disulfide homeostasis in children with steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome.
Abnormal thiol/disulphide homoeostasis (TDH) is responsible for the pathogenesis of various diseases. We aimed to examine the TDH in children with steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome (SSNS). ⋯ We found that TDH shifts in favour of oxidants in children with SSNS in remission. This shift indicates that SSNS patients are exposed to augmented oxidative stress.

Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease diagnosed by transient elastography and liver biopsy.
We aimed to determine if there was a higher incidence of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) than in patients without NAFLD. Moreover, we assessed whether patients with significant fibrosis (SF) had a higher incidence of SIBO compared with patients with non-significant or no liver fibrosis. ⋯ In this relatively large population of patients, we used a gold standard for both SIBO (quantitative culture of duodenum's descending part aspirate) and NAFLD (LB), and we demonstrated that NASH patients and those with SF had a higher incidence of SIBO. Moreover, significant predictors independently associated with SIBO were T2DM, fibrosis stage and ballooning grade. Although TE is a well-investigated method for steatosis and fibrosis detection, in our study, independent predictors of SIBO were histological characteristics of NAFLD, while elastographic parameters did not reach statistical significance.

Regulating antimicrobial sales in Saudi Arabia; Achievements and Challenges.
Antimicrobials save millions of lives annually from dying because of bacterial infections, but the rapid emergence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) becomes a global threat. The Saudi Ministry of Health (MOH) has taken containment measures to limit the misuse of antimicrobials via implementing restrictions on dispensing without prescriptions. Hence, we aim to evaluate the impact of regulating antimicrobial sales and identify challenges that pharmacists are facing to prevent self-medication with antimicrobial agents. ⋯ Restriction measures implemented by the Saudi MOH led to a 40% to 50% reduction in inappropriate sales of antimicrobials. Further studies are needed to investigate the methods for improving documentation and prescribing practices.

Risk and prognosis factors for systemic sclerosis with lung cancer: A single-centre case-control study in China.
To analyse clinical characteristics, risk and prognosis factors for systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients with lung cancer. ⋯ Lung cancer is not uncommon in SSc patients, especially those with family histories of malignancy or ILD. Early detection of lung cancer is of vital importance for better prognosis.
