Serum MicroRNAs as predictors for fibrosis progression and response to direct- acting antivirals treatment in hepatitis C virus genotype-4 Egyptian Patients.
MicroRNA (miRNAs) are small non-coding molecules that play an important role in hepatitis C virus (HCV) replication and liver diseases progression. The current study aimed to evaluate serum miRNAs as potential biomarkers for diagnosis, monitoring of fibrosis progression and prediction of responses to direct-acting antivirals (sofosbuvir + daclatasvir + ribavirin) in HCV genotype-4 patients. ⋯ miR-199 and miR-448 could serve as valuable non-invasive biomarkers for assessment of liver fibrosis progression. Additionally, miR-199 could be also a potential biomarker for assessment of treatment efficacy among HCV patients. Therefore, miR-199 and miR-448 serum levels should be considered during the treatment of HCV genotype-4 patients in Egypt and the world.

While studies on covid-19 vaccine is ongoing; the public's thoughts and attitudes to the future Covid-19 vaccine.
In this study, we aim to investigate the thoughts and attitudes of individuals towards the future COVID-19 vaccine. ⋯ In our study, afraid of the side effects of vaccine and not thinking it can be reliable as it will be a new vaccine are the most reasons of indecision and rejection about COVID 19 vaccine. In order for the future COVID 19 vaccination campaign to not fail, media, politicians and healthcare professionals should closely follow the vaccination development processes, inform the public transparently and consider public's concerns.

The influence of mental status on reported local urinary tract symptoms in patients with bacteremic urinary tract infections.
In elderly patients with a urinary tract infection, the influence of mental status on the frequency of local urinary tract symptoms is uncertain. We aim to compare the frequency of reported local urinary tract symptoms between mentally intact and cognitively impaired older people with a bacteraemic urinary tract infection. ⋯ The absence of local urinary tract symptoms in elderly patients with a bacteraemic urinary tract infection is less frequent but common in those mentally intact, and should not preclude the need for a urine culture or antibiotic therapy.

Real-life assessment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patient performance with different inhalers.
This study aimed to evaluate handling of six common inhalers and to determine correlations between correct inhaler technique and patient demographics/ clinical variables. ⋯ pMDI is not preferable for handling by COPD patients. DPIs vary in ease of use, so that inhaler therapy must be individualised on basis of patient handling assessment with repeated counselling.

Drug Use Evaluation of Cefepime at Khartoum North Teaching Hospital in Sudan.
Cefepime is essentially used for life-threatening infections. Although overutilisation of antibiotics is strongly discouraged around the world, they are still overused in developing countries including Sudan. ⋯ This study highlighted the irrational use of cefepime regarding inappropriate dose, duration, and inadequate antibiotic sensitivity tests. A lack of attention to dosage adjustment in patients with renal impairment had been observed. Positive clinical outcome was significantly associated with antibiotic sensitivity test.
