Remission has been introduced as a desirable outcome and the primary target of treatment in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The purpose of this study was to identify the number of patients in remission and the long-term outcome of the disease and their predictors. ⋯ Treatment with glucocorticoids, antimalarials, immunosuppressants and biologics in sequential or in combination may cause durable remission. Patients with durable remission have significantly lower organ damage.

The impact of changing patient interfaces on delivering aerosol with titrated oxygen in the high flow system.
Despite the widespread oxygen-culture as more is better in prehospital and hospital settings, the use of titrated oxygen-flow within a high-flow system can be beneficial especially when combined with aerosol-delivery and also save the patient from unnecessary-hyperoxia. ⋯ The nasal cannula is a more comfortable and tolerable interface despite the lower fraction of the delivered drug compared with other tested interfaces. The use of oxygen-flow with aerosol delivery within a high flow system positively affects the delivered drug fraction and the pulmonary deposition of the drug.

Writing clinic letters in head and neck outpatient services - are we doing what patients want?
The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges have recently recommended all outpatient letters to be written directly to patients. We aimed to evaluate clinician and patient preferences for their outpatient letters from a head and neck department at a single-centre secondary care hospital. ⋯ When considered in the wider body of similar studies, there is convincing evidence that patients would prefer letters to be written to them rather than GPs. The authors believe that there should be a push towards patient-directed letters becoming the norm. This will improve patients' understanding of their own health and treatment decisions, allowing them to be more involved in their care and increase patient-centred consultations.

Vitamin D level in a sample of Egyptian Females of Childbearing Age Attending a Family Medicine Center.
Vitamin D deficiency is now recognised as a pandemic. The normal range of Vitamin D in the Arab countries is much lower than the international standards. Several Arab countries have published studies assessing serum Vitamin D levels among women--to date there is no national study assessing Vitamin D levels among Egyptian women. ⋯ Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency are prevalent among Egyptian women of childbearing age. A routine monitoring screening for Vitamin D deficiency and Vitamin D health education are required to minimise risk factors among women of childbearing age.

The effect of fear of COVID-19 transmission on male sexual behavior: a cross-sectional survey study.
In December 2019, cases of pneumonia, a new type of corona virus (SARS-CoV-2), began to be reported in Wuhan, China. We aimed to evaluate changes in sexual behaviour of men in the Covid-19 outbreak in Turkey. ⋯ The fear of infection and transmission of the disease to the partner that occurs during the Covid-19 pandemic manifests itself in the form of a decrease in the frequency and quality of sexual intercourse.
