Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of a Mediterranean Diet Compared with the Low-Fat Diet on Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis: A Randomized Feeding Trial.
Knee osteoarthritis is a common global problem, especially in overweight and obese people. It is not clear that weight loss is a factor for pain reduction in these patients or dietary components are important. Herein, we compared the effects of Mediterranean (MD) and low-fat diet on pain, stiffness, and physical function in patients with knee osteoarthritis. ⋯ Pain severity was reduced in the MD group, but no significant change was reported in patients on low-fat and regular diets. It seems that dietary components in the MD, regardless of weight loss effect, are effective on pain reduction in patients with KOA. The present study was registered in the IRCT under the code of IRCT20200929048876N1.

Randomized Controlled TrialSesame Oil Ameliorates Alanine Aminotransferase, Aspartate Aminotransferase, and Fatty Liver Grade in Women with Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Undergoing Low-Calorie Diet: A Randomized Double-Blind Controlled Trial.
The type and amount of dietary fats play an important role in fat accumulation in the liver. Sesame oil (SO) is a good source of monounsaturated acids (MUFAs) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). ⋯ The desired effects of weight loss were reinforced by the consumption of SO through improving fatty liver severity and serum ALT and AST levels in NAFLD patients. Moreover, low-calorie diets may lead to favorable outcomes for NAFLD patients through mitigation of obesity and fatty liver grade.

Occurrence of Liver Damage and Obstetric Outcomes in Pregnant Women Diagnosed with Pruritus during Pregnancy: A Retrospective Study.
A retrospective study of the occurrence of liver damage and obstetric outcomes in pregnant women diagnosed with pruritus. ⋯ Further study is needed to assess the pathophysiologic mechanisms underlying intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy as well as any significant liver damage associated with pregnancy.

A Nomogram to Better Predict the In-Hospital Mortality of Trauma Patients with Sepsis in the Intensive Care Unit.
Trauma has a high incidence and mortality worldwide, and sepsis is one of the main causes of mortality in trauma patients. Therefore, it is essential to identify the risk factors of in-hospital mortality for trauma patients with sepsis. ⋯ The new nomogram has a well predicted value for in-hospital mortality for patients with trauma and sepsis in intensive care units.

Multicenter StudyThe Safety and Effectiveness of Infliximab Biosimilar in Managing Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Real-Life Experience from Jordan.
Infliximab (IFX) biosimilar was the first biosimilar approved in Jordan in 2014, with limited evidence of its safety and effectiveness from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of IFX biosimilar in active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients over 34 weeks by investigating (1) the adverse events (AEs), serious adverse events (SAEs), and therapy discontinuation and (2) the score changes of the 28-Joint Disease Activity Score (DAS28) and the Health Assessment Questionnaire Disability Index (HAQ-DI). ⋯ IFX biosimilar demonstrated safety and effectiveness in managing RA patients bringing real-world clinical support for biosimilars' role in rheumatology.
