High Incidence of Metabolic Syndrome Components in Lichen Planus Patients: A Prospective Cross-Sectional Study.
Lichen planus (LP) is a chronic inflammatory dermatosis, involving the skin, appendages, and mucous membranes. There is a growing body of evidence about higher risk of metabolic syndrome and dyslipidemia in some dermatoses including LP. ⋯ Screening of LP patients in regard to their lipid profile might be more reasonable in men or those who have other cardiovascular risk factors to prevent morbidity and mortality in result of developing cardiovascular events.

Circulating Inflammatory Markers May Mediate the Relationship between Healthy Plant-Based Diet and Metabolic Phenotype Obesity in Women: A Cross-Sectional Study.
It has been posited that both metabolically healthy obesity (MHO) and metabolically unhealthy obesity (MUHO) could be emergent from diet and inflammatory markers. Thus, we sought to investigate the influence of plant-based diet on MHO and MUHO phenotypes mediated by inflammatory markers in overweight and obese women. ⋯ There was a significant inverse relationship between adherence to hPDI and MUHO phenotype in overweight and obese Iranian women. This association appeared to be mediated by TGF-β1, IL-β1, and MCP1.

Clinical TrialComparison of the Therapeutic Effect of the Mini-Open Incision and Conventional Open Neurolysis of the Median Nerve for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
The aim of this study was to compare the therapeutic effects of the mini-open incision and conventional open surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). ⋯ Mini-open incision surgery for CTS was a safe and reliable procedure with a precise therapeutic effect, minimal surgical trauma, and high postoperative comfort for patients and could achieve enhanced recovery. Trial Registration. This trial is registered with ChiCTR2200064631.

The Effect of Bigorexia Nervosa on Eating Attitudes and Physical Activity: A Study on University Students.
This study aims to examine the relationship between physical activity, eating attitude, and bigorexia nervosa among university students. ⋯ Eating attitude is associated with bigorexia nervosa, and as MASS scores increase, EAT-40 scores decrease and as IPAQ scores increase, and EAT-40 scores decrease. In other words, as physical activity increases, muscle strength satisfaction elevates, and in parallel with this increase, a positive eating attitude improves.

Elevated Cardiac Troponin I following Asymptomatic Intradialytic Hypotension: A Pilot Study with a 2-Year Follow-Up.
Intradialytic hypotension (IDH) has been recognized as a serious and frequent complication during hemodialysis (HD) of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients, but the effect of asymptomatic IDH on cardiac troponin I (cTnI) levels is not definitively elucidated. ⋯ The results of our study suggest that asymptomatic IDH affects cTnI levels. Given that cTnI is a marker of myocardial damage and a predictor of cardiovascular mortality in ESRD patients, these findings recommend that considering the asymptomatic decrease in blood pressure levels during HD is very important and critical.
