Review Meta AnalysisEfficacy and Safety of Liraglutide 3.0 mg in Patients with Overweight and Obese with or without Diabetes: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Liraglutide in a 3.0 mg subcutaneous dose daily is approved for weight reduction. ⋯ Liraglutide in 3.0 mg subcutaneous dose demonstrated significant weight reduction with a reasonable safety profile for patients with overweight or obesity regardless of diabetic status compared to placebo.

ReviewCurrent Status of Phage Therapy against Infectious Diseases and Potential Application beyond Infectious Diseases.
Intestinal microbiota plays a key role in regulating the pathogenesis of human disease and maintaining health. Many diseases, mainly induced by bacteria, are on the rise due to the emergence of antibiotic-resistant strains. Intestinal microorganisms include organisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi. ⋯ Therefore, it has also become increasingly difficult to treat serious bacterial infections. Phages, a natural antibacterial agent with strong specificity and rapid proliferation, have come back to the field of vision of clinicians and scholars. In this study, the current state of research on intestinal phages was discussed, with an exploration of the impact of phage therapy against infectious diseases, as well as potential application beyond infectious diseases.

Observational StudyDoes Rocuroinum Dose Adjusted Due to Lean Body Weight Provide Adequate Intubation Conditions?: A Prospective Observational Study.
This is a prospective, observational study. Patients between the ages of 18 and 65 with BMI of 18.5-34.9, who are expected to be under general anesthesia for less than 6 hours, were divided into 3 groups according to their BMI (Group 1 BMI = 18.5-24.9, Group 2 BMI = 25-29.9, Group 3 BMI = 30-34.9). These groups were randomly divided into 2 subgroups: Groups LBW; 1 LBW, 2 LBW, and 3 LBW were given rocuronium intubation dosages based on their LBW while control groups; 1K, 2K, and 3K were given 0.6 mg/kg rocuronium according to their total body weight. The data on the duration of action of rocuronium and its effects on the endotracheal intubation conditions were evaluated. ⋯ In adult patients with a BMI of 18.5 and 24.9 BMI, we report optimal intubation conditions with the LBW-adjusted rocuronium dosage. Pattern of Facial Fractures and Its Association with a Cervical Spine Injury in a Tertiary Hospital in Jordan.
Facial fractures can be accompanied by serious and life-threatening injuries such as cervical spine injury (CSI), which can lead to serious consequences if misdiagnosed. ⋯ The current study revealed that the most common type of facial fracture occurred in the mandible area, and CSI was the most common fracture-associated injury (82.7%). Increased age and having mandibular or maxillary fracture were associated with an increased risk of developing CSI. Therefore, it is necessary to rule out the presence of concomitant CSI during the emergency management of maxillofacial fractures, particularly for elderly patients and those with mandibular or maxillary fractures.

Association of CHA2DS2-VASC Score with in-Hospital Cardiovascular Adverse Events in Patients with Acute ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction.
Acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is a common clinical critical illness, and accurate, reliable, simple, and easy-to-remember tools are needed in clinical practice to quickly identify the risk of this condition in STEMI patients. This study investigates the predictive value of the admission CHA2DS2-VASc score for in-hospital MACE in STEMI patients. ⋯ The CHA2DS2-VASc score can successfully predict the occurrence of in-hospital MACE events in STEMI patients.
