Randomized Controlled TrialThe Effect of Ondansetron on the Analgesic Efficacy of Tramadol in Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.
Investigating the effect of ondansetron on the efficacy of tramadol in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. ⋯ The results showed that coadministration of tramadol and ondansetron did not change tramadol consumption during the postoperative 24 hours after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Clinical trial registration number is as follows: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04745273-01/31/2021.

ReviewMycoplasma pneumoniae Infections and Primary Immune Deficiencies.
Mycoplasma pneumoniae (M. pneumoniae) is one of the leading causes of community-acquired pneumonia in children and is also implicated in a variety of reactive extrapulmonary diseases. Recurrent and/or severe respiratory infections are one of the most frequent manifestations of several types of primary immunodeficiency. ⋯ Indeed, the active search of M. pneumoniae could be useful and appropriate especially in children with humoral immune deficiencies. Indeed, most cases of M. pneumoniae infection in primary immunodeficiencies are described in patients affected by a/hypo-gammaglobulinemia.

ReviewCancer-Associated Thrombosis: Not All Low-Molecular-Weight Heparins Are the Same, Focus on Tinzaparin, A Narrative Review.
Cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT) is the second main cause of cancer death with high related mortality and morbidity, leading to anticancer agent delays and interruptions. The recommended therapy, low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH), however, is burdensome for patients and costly for society, as treatment should last until cancer is no longer active, even indefinitely. ⋯ Compared to the other LMWHs, advantages are single-daily dose and safety in the elderly and those with renal impairment (RI). The purpose of this review is to critically discuss recent data on its efficacy and safety in CAT.

The Role of Thrombocyte Parameters in Retinopathy of Prematurity Development.
To investigate the role of thrombocyte parameters in retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) development. ⋯ Although PLT count was lower and thrombocytopenia rate was higher in the type-1 ROP group, the differences were not found to be significant. Further prospective studies are required to evaluate the role of thrombocytes in ROP pathogenesis.

Clinical TrialClinical Variation in the Treatment Practices for Medication Nonadherence, Drug-Drug Interactions, and Recognition of Disease Progression in Patients with Chronic Cardiometabolic Diseases: A Cross-Sectional Patient Simulation Study among Primary Care Physicians.
Medication nonadherence in patients with chronic diseases is common, costly, and often underdiagnosed. In the United States, approximately 40-50% of patients with cardiometabolic conditions are not adherent to long-term medications. Drug-drug interactions (DDI) are also underrecognized and may lead to medication nonadherence in this patient population. Treatment complexity associated with cardiometabolic conditions contributes to increased risk for adverse drug events and DDIs. ⋯ Based on these study results, primary care physicians were unable to adequately diagnose and treat patients with chronic cardiometabolic diseases who either suffered from medication nonadherence, DDIs, or progression of the disease. Improved standardization and technique in identifying these diagnoses is needed in primary care. Trial Registration. This trial is registered with clinicaltrials.gov, NCT05192590.
