Age-friendly care for older adults within rural Australian health systems: An integrative review.
To identify the core elements of interventions and models that facilitate age-friendly care for older adults within rural Australian health systems, and assess the extent to which these align with core elements of the Institute for Health Improvement's (IHI) Age-Friendly Health Systems 4Ms Model. ⋯ The IHI 4Ms Model appears to be applicable in the rural Australian context. More high-quality, systematic evidence is needed to investigate the core elements of age-friendly care across diverse rural contexts.

The aim of this project was to assess the value for money of a modified unit within a residential aged care facility (RACF) for people requiring palliative care at the end of life. ⋯ A modified RACF unit could provide substantial cost savings to the health budget for selected complex palliative care patients.

To evaluate the access of approved aged care services and factors associated with accessing these services. ⋯ Monitoring the use of aged care service approvals is necessary for the identification of service access barriers to support evidence-based policy changes.

Reducing the need for permanent accommodation in nursing homes (residential aged care services) for young people is a major challenge in Australia and internationally. This study investigated the use of innovative geo-mapping strategies to describe the geographical distribution of young people living in residential aged care services (RACS). ⋯ Geo-mapping provides useful information for the development of targeted programs and services.

To assess relationships between resilience, frailty and outcomes in geriatric rehabilitation inpatients. ⋯ Resilience and frailty were inversely related. Frailty was an independent predictor of rehabilitation LOS and mortality.
