    [Tick bite fever].

    Tick bite fever (boutonneuse fever) is endemic in India, Africa and especially the Mediterranean countries. It is occasionally "imported" into central European countries by tourists. ⋯ A typical primary lesion at the site of the tick's bite is an important diagnostic hint. The treatment of choice are tetracyclines.
