ReviewUterus transplantation: animal research and human possibilities.
Uterus transplantation research has been conducted toward its introduction in the human as a treatment of absolute uterine-factor infertility, which is considered to be the last frontier to conquer for infertility research. In this review we describe the patient populations that may benefit from uterus transplantation. The animal research on uterus transplantation conducted during the past two decades is summarized, and we describe our views regarding a future research-based human attempt.

Severe maternal morbidity in ectopic pregnancy is not associated with maternal factors but may be associated with quality of care.
To study the association between patient-related risk factors and severe maternal morbidity in women with tubal ectopic pregnancy (EP). Furthermore, to identify substandard care factors in clinical care management of EP. ⋯ No patient-related risk factors for severe intra-abdominal hemorrhage in women with tubal EP were identified. Our findings underpin the importance of awareness of EP among young fertile women and care providers and clinical care management according to the guidelines to prevent severe maternal morbidity.

Comparative StudyEndometriosis-associated nerve fibers, peritoneal fluid cytokine concentrations, and pain in endometriotic lesions from different locations.
To assess the relationship between endometriotic lesions with associated nerve fibers with both pain and peritoneal fluid (PF) cytokine concentrations based on lesion location. ⋯ The presence of endometriosis-associated nerve fibers appear to be related to both the pain experienced by women with endometriosis and the concentration of PF cytokines; however, this association varies with the lesion location.

Venous thromboembolism in relation to in vitro fertilization: an approach to determining the incidence and increase in risk in successful cycles.
To determine the incidence and the increase in risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in relation to IVF and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) in successful cycles. ⋯ Treating women with OHSS with low-molecular-weight heparin thromboprophylaxis during the first trimester and treating cases at high-risk for OHSS with frozen embryo replacement is likely to lower the risk of VTE.
