Randomized Controlled TrialPostoperative medical treatment of chronic pelvic pain related to severe endometriosis: levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system versus gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogue.
To compare efficacy of the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS; Mirena) with depot GnRH analogue (GnRH-a; gosareline acetate; Zoladex) on endometriosis-related chronic pelvic pain (CPP) in patients with severe endometriosis during 12 months. ⋯ Both treatment modalities showed comparable effectiveness in the treatment of CPP-related endometriosis.

Comparative StudyIschemia-modified albumin and cardiovascular risk markers in polycystic ovary syndrome with or without insulin resistance.
The aim of this study was to evaluate ischemia-modified albumin levels (IMA) in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) cases with and without insulin resistance and the correlation of IMA with carotid intima media thickness, homocysteine, and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels. Significantly higher levels of IMA in young lean PCOS cases, more relevant in insulin resistant cases, indicates chronic hypoxia and oxidative stress which might play a role in the metabolic consequences in PCOS.

Randomized Controlled TrialAromatase inhibitors in women with clomiphene citrate resistance: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.
In 36 women with polycystic ovary syndrome and clomiphene citrate resistance, letrozole, an aromatase inhibitor, statistically significantly increased the ovulation rate by 33.3% in the treatment group, indicating that letrozole can be used as an effective and simple alternate ovulation-inducing agent in these women.

We tested the hypothesis that the protective effect of parity on fibroids is due to direct pregnancy-related effects by following women from early pregnancy to postpartum period with ultrasound. Of 171 women with one initial fibroid, 36% had no identifiable fibroid at the time of postpartum ultrasound, and 79% of the remaining fibroids decreased in size.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyProspective randomized comparison of human oocyte cryopreservation with slow-rate freezing or vitrification.
To compare cryopreservation of mature human oocytes with slow-rate freezing and vitrification and determine which is most efficient at establishing a pregnancy. ⋯ Our results suggest that vitrification/warming is currently the most efficient means of oocyte cryopreservation in relation to subsequent success in establishing pregnancy.
