[Management of fibular hemimelia with the Ilizarov circular external fixator].
We evaluated the results of treatment with the Ilizarov circular external fixator for limb length inequality and deformities in patients with type IA, IB, and type II fibular hemimelia. ⋯ The Ilizarov technique is a convenient method in the correction of angular and rotational deformities while enabling distraction in type I and type II fibular hemimelia.

[Transforaminal epidural steroid injection under computed tomography guidance in relieving lumbosacral radicular pain].
We analyzed the efficacy of transforaminal epidural steroid injections under computed tomography (CT) in relieving lumbosacral radicular pain due to spinal stenosis. ⋯ Selective transforaminal epidural steroid and analgesic injection under CT guidance is a safe and reliable conservative method to relieve lumbosacral radicular pain due to spinal stenosis.

[Treatment of intertrochanteric femur fractures in elderly patients: internal fixation or hemiarthroplasty].
There is no consensus as to whether internal fixation or hemiarthroplasty is more appropriate for the treatment of intertrochanteric femur fractures in elderly patients. While the latter offers early mobilization, internal fixation preserves the hip joint and avoids long-term complications associated with the prosthesis. This retrospective study aimed to compare the early results of these treatment modalities. ⋯ Short-term results suggest that hemiarthroplasty is not an advantageous alternative to internal fixation; moreover, its postoperative survival is shorter and mortality rate is higher. Osteosynthesis seems to be the first choice in the treatment of elderly patients with intertrochanteric femur fractures.

[Treatment of medial epicondyle fractures accompanying elbow dislocations in children].
We evaluated the clinical and radiographic results of treatment for medial epicondyle fractures accompanying elbow dislocations in children. ⋯ Patients with entrapment of the medial epicondylar fragment in the joint and with a displacement of more than 5 mm should undergo surgery, while those with a displacement of 5 mm or less can be treated conservatively.

[Factors affecting the results of treatment in traumatic dislocation of the hip].
We evaluated the long-term results of conservative and surgical treatment and the effect of prognostic factors on these results in patients with traumatic dislocation of the hip. ⋯ Our data may provide insight into the factors affecting the prognosis of traumatic hip dislocations treated by closed or open reduction.
