Bipolar dislocation of the forearm (floating forearm) is an unusual injury and is therefore often overlooked. We report a 28-year-old male patient who presented at another center with a history of a fall while climbing a tree. The patient's left elbow was treated with closed reduction and immobilization with a long-arm cast brace due to elbow dislocation. ⋯ A dorsal incision was performed for open reduction and internal fixation to provide wide surgical exposure. Concomitant occurrence of elbow dislocation and fracture-dislocation of the perilunate is infrequent. Therefore, physicians should be aware of possible additional injuries and current recommended treatment methods.

Comparative StudyComparison of simultaneous bilateral with unilateral total knee arthroplasty.
The aim of this study was to compare simultaneous bilateral total knee arthroplasty (BTKA) and unilateral total knee arthroplasty (UTKA) in terms of morbidity, clinical and radiological findings and quality of life. ⋯ Simultaneous BTKA should be considered in selected patients under 70 years of age with good compliance and no comorbid disease.

Cross-cultural adaptation, reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) Knee Score.
The purpose of this study was to adapt the English version of the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) knee score for use in a Turkish population and to evaluate its validity, reliability and cultural adaptation. ⋯ The Turkish version of the HSS knee score is reliable and valid in evaluating the total knee arthroplasty in Turkish patients.

Case ReportsHip dislocation associated with ipsilateral femoral neck and shaft fractures: an unusual combination and dilemma regarding head preservation.
Traumatic posterior hip dislocation associated with a fracture of the femoral neck is a rare injury. The combination of posterior dislocation of the femoral head with ipsilateral femoral neck and shaft fractures is even rarer, with only one such case reported in literature. ⋯ The radiographs revealed union of all fractures without evidence of avascular necrosis of the femoral head at final follow-up of two years. This case is of particular interest as it highlights some of the important factors in deciding between head preservation versus arthroplasty for this complex fracture-dislocation.

Case ReportsDeep vein thrombosis after arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction in a patient with primary thrombocytopenia.
Deep vein thrombosis is a rare complication after arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. We present a patient with primary thrombocytopenia who had deep vein thrombosis after arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The patient recovered well at a 2-year follow-up. The purpose of this study was to enhance the awareness on venous thrombosis, a rare complication after arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
