[Evaluation of prognostic factors affecting recurrences and disease-free survival in extra-abdominal desmoid tumors].
We investigated treatment results and the role of potential prognostic factors in patients treated by surgery with or without adjuvant radiotherapy for primary or recurrent extra-abdominal desmoid tumors. ⋯ In our series, no prognostic factor could be identified as having an association with the high recurrence rate.

[Surgical restoration of drop foot deformity with tibialis posterior tendon transfer].
The transfer of the tibialis posterior tendon to the paralysed tendons on the anterior aspect of the ankle not only restores the function of the paralyzed muscles, but also removes the deforming force on the medial aspect of the foot. In this study, we evaluated patients who underwent tibialis posterior tendon transfer for the treatment of drop foot. ⋯ Tibialis posterior tendon transfer in drop foot yields highly successful results in the restoration of active dorsiflexion and prevention of flexion deformity in the toes.

Review[Osteotomies in the treatment of osteochondral lesions of the knee joint].
Excellent results of total knee arthroplasty have outweighed high tibial osteotomy applications in the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee joint, but there is a growing interest in osteotomies as an adjunct in the treatment of full-thickness chondral and osteochondral lesions of the knee. Abnormal biomechanics in both tibiofemoral and patellofemoral articulations resulting from instability and malalignment should be corrected and osteotomy should be regarded as the first step in the treatment of these lesions. ⋯ Clinical, radiographic, and experimental studies have shown beneficial effects of osteotomies on cartilage regeneration. The aim of the osteotomy is simple: cartilage needs proper biomechanical environment for healing.

[Total hip arthroplasty in patients with osteoarthritis secondary to developmental dysplasia of the hip: results after a mean of eight-year follow-up].
We evaluated eight-year results of total hip arthroplasty in patients with osteoarthritis secondary to developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). ⋯ Successful results can be obtained with good planning and proper surgical procedures in the treatment of osteoarthritis secondary to DDH.
