[Treatment of intertrochanteric femur fractures in elderly patients: internal fixation or hemiarthroplasty].
There is no consensus as to whether internal fixation or hemiarthroplasty is more appropriate for the treatment of intertrochanteric femur fractures in elderly patients. While the latter offers early mobilization, internal fixation preserves the hip joint and avoids long-term complications associated with the prosthesis. This retrospective study aimed to compare the early results of these treatment modalities. ⋯ Short-term results suggest that hemiarthroplasty is not an advantageous alternative to internal fixation; moreover, its postoperative survival is shorter and mortality rate is higher. Osteosynthesis seems to be the first choice in the treatment of elderly patients with intertrochanteric femur fractures.

[Treatment of medial epicondyle fractures accompanying elbow dislocations in children].
We evaluated the clinical and radiographic results of treatment for medial epicondyle fractures accompanying elbow dislocations in children. ⋯ Patients with entrapment of the medial epicondylar fragment in the joint and with a displacement of more than 5 mm should undergo surgery, while those with a displacement of 5 mm or less can be treated conservatively.

[Arthroscopic selective capsular release in the treatment of frozen shoulder].
We evaluated the results of arthroscopic selective capsular release in patients with frozen shoulder. ⋯ Patients with frozen shoulder unresponsive to conservative treatment can be effectively treated with arthroscopic selective capsular release and manipulation.

[Factors affecting the results of treatment in traumatic dislocation of the hip].
We evaluated the long-term results of conservative and surgical treatment and the effect of prognostic factors on these results in patients with traumatic dislocation of the hip. ⋯ Our data may provide insight into the factors affecting the prognosis of traumatic hip dislocations treated by closed or open reduction.

[Closed reduction and percutaneous lateral pin fixation in the treatment of displaced supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children].
We evaluated the results of closed reduction and percutaneous lateral-pin fixation in the treatment of displaced supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children. ⋯ Closed reduction and percutaneous lateral pinning proved an efficient, reliable, and safe method in the treatment of displaced supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children.
