Cortical onlay strut allograft with cerclage wiring of periprosthetic fractures of the humerus without stem loosening: technique and preliminary results.
The goal of this study was to describe an internal fixation technique for periprosthetic humeral fractures using a cortical onlay strut allograft stabilized with cerclage wires and to evaluate the preliminary results of this approach. An anterolateral approach was used to direct access the fracture and to protect the radial nerve. The fracture was reduced with two forceps, under visual control. ⋯ Passive then active rehabilitation was begun after 1 month. Six women, mean age 74.3 ± 10.9 years old, were included in the study between 2013 and 2015 with a mean follow-up of 10 ± 2 months. Bone union was obtained in all patients after 6 months of follow-up with no recurrent fractures.

Comparative StudyCarpal scaphoid non-union treatment: a retrospective trial comparing simple retrograde percutaneous screw fixation versus percutaneous screw fixation plus pulsed electromagnetic fields (Physiostim®).
The purpose of this retrospective comparative study was to assess whether a complementary treatment by pulsed electromagnetic field could increase the bone-healing rate of scaphoid non-union without SNAC (scaphoid non-union advanced collapse) treated by retrograde percutaneous screw fixation. ⋯ III.

Multicenter StudyTightrope fixation of syndesmotic injuries in Weber C ankle fractures: a multicentre case series.
No general consensus has yet been established for the gold standard treatment of ankle syndesmotic complex injuries. Recent literature has documented the success of ankle tightrope fixation for heterogeneous ankle fracture patterns, resulting in syndesmotic complex injuries. We present a multicentre case series assessing the clinical, radiological and functional outcomes of patients with Weber C ankle fractures treated with the Arthrex TightRope® fixation system. ⋯ Tightrope fixation is a safe alternative to screw fixation for syndesmotic complex injuries in Weber C ankle fractures. We have shown that it has low complication rates and a high patient satisfaction.

Comparative StudyRevision anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with ipsi- or contralateral hamstring tendon grafts.
With the increasing number of primary anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions, the need for revision ACL surgery has risen over the past few years. The purpose of the present study is to retrospectively compare the clinical outcome of ipsilateral versus contralateral hamstring tendon autografts for ACL revision surgery, specifically with regard to patient satisfaction, post-operative functional outcomes, and return to sports. ⋯ The use of contralateral hamstring tendon autografts for ACL revision surgery produced similar subjective and objective outcomes at 6-years follow-up compared to revision with ipsilateral hamstring tendon autografts. Patients undergoing revision surgery with contralateral autografts experienced a quicker return to sports compared to patients who underwent ipsilateral DGST revision surgery.
