Multicenter StudyTightrope fixation of syndesmotic injuries in Weber C ankle fractures: a multicentre case series.
No general consensus has yet been established for the gold standard treatment of ankle syndesmotic complex injuries. Recent literature has documented the success of ankle tightrope fixation for heterogeneous ankle fracture patterns, resulting in syndesmotic complex injuries. We present a multicentre case series assessing the clinical, radiological and functional outcomes of patients with Weber C ankle fractures treated with the Arthrex TightRope® fixation system. ⋯ Tightrope fixation is a safe alternative to screw fixation for syndesmotic complex injuries in Weber C ankle fractures. We have shown that it has low complication rates and a high patient satisfaction.

Comparative StudyRevision anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with ipsi- or contralateral hamstring tendon grafts.
With the increasing number of primary anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions, the need for revision ACL surgery has risen over the past few years. The purpose of the present study is to retrospectively compare the clinical outcome of ipsilateral versus contralateral hamstring tendon autografts for ACL revision surgery, specifically with regard to patient satisfaction, post-operative functional outcomes, and return to sports. ⋯ The use of contralateral hamstring tendon autografts for ACL revision surgery produced similar subjective and objective outcomes at 6-years follow-up compared to revision with ipsilateral hamstring tendon autografts. Patients undergoing revision surgery with contralateral autografts experienced a quicker return to sports compared to patients who underwent ipsilateral DGST revision surgery.

Comparative StudyOutcomes of proximal humeral fracture fixation with locked CFR-PEEK plating.
To investigate the outcomes of proximal humeral fracture (PHF) fixation with a novel carbon-fiber-reinforced (CFR)-PEEK plate and to compare results with outcomes after conventional locked titanium plating. ⋯ Fracture fixation of displaced PHFs with a novel CFR-PEEK plate resulted in good to excellent 1-year functional outcomes which were similar to outcomes of conventional locked titanium plating. The stiffer locked titanium plating was associated with a higher risk of articular screw perforations than the more elastic CFR-PEEK plate.

Multicenter StudyPrevalence of remaining horizontal instability in high-grade acromioclavicular joint injuries surgically managed.
To determine the prevalence of remaining horizontal instability in high-grade acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) injuries surgically managed by means of four different surgical strategies and to assess its relation to the clinical outcomes and the quality of life. ⋯ Level IV, prognostic case series.

Multicenter StudyShoulder hemiarthroplasty for proximal humeral fractures: analysis of clinical and radiographic outcomes at midterm follow-up: a series of 51 patients.
Shoulder hemiarthroplasty has historically been the gold standard treatment for proximal humeral fractures not suitable to open reduction and internal fixation. In the last decades, reverse shoulder arthroplasty has gained more and more importance. Aim of this study is to retrospectively analyze subjective and objective outcomes of a group of consecutive patients. ⋯ Statistical analysis revealed significant correlation between CMS, pCMS, VAS and subjective satisfaction and between anatomic tuberosities healing and 3-part fractures. HA implant is a valid and reliable technique for the treatment of proximal humeral fracture. From our data, patients' satisfaction depends upon pain relief more than upon restore of function.
