Flow characteristics of LIMA radial composite sequential bypass grafting and single LIMA and saphenous vein sequential bypass grafting performed under OPCAB.
The present study was aimed to compare the hemodynamic flow characteristics of LIMA radial artery composite sequential bypass grafting and with single LIMA and saphenous vein sequential bypass grafting performed by off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB). ⋯ The results of the present data suggest the hemodynamic flow characteristics of composite bypass grafting to be inferior to the single LIMA and separate aorta-saphenous vein bypass grafting strategy. However, a longer follow up is warranted to assess the implications of these findings on graft durability.

Endovascular management of peripheral arterial trauma in patients presenting in hemorrhagic shock.
This study investigated patients who sustained peripheral arterial trauma, presented with clinical signs of shock, and underwent urgent endovascular repair (endo-R). ⋯ Endo-R of traumatic non-aortic arterial injuries or spontaneous ruptures might be considered as a treatment option-in preference to open repair-even in emergency settings such as in shock patients. However, the safety of endovascular treatment in unstable trauma patients must be proved after comparison with open surgical treatment.

The present study investigates the geometry of failing left ventricles with a special focus on apical deformation. A new surgical remodelling technique is evaluated. ⋯ Apical compression improved ventricular geometry and ventricular function in patients with dialatation of the left ventricular apex.
