The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between fear and avoidance beliefs with the disability of patients with chronic low back pain and the prediction of quality of life. ⋯ Findings of our study were compatible with the previous studies that evaluated the relationship between pain intensity and FAB with the disability of patients with chronic low back pain. We think that it'd have a role for the perception of disability and connected to this to prevent the impairment of life quality by implications for FAB in these patients.

Transforaminal epidural steroid injection via a preganglionic approach for the treatment of lumbar radicular pain.
To evaluate the effectiveness of transforaminal epidural steroid injection (TFESI) for lumbar radiculopathy with respect to effect of injection levels, gender, and age group. ⋯ Especially in the patients with severe co-morbidities TFESI is an option to provide higher life quality. The clinical course of the success of the TFESI decreases in one year and becomes stable thereafter. In the patients with immune deficiency, the practitioners should always be aware for an infectious complication.

Intramedullary tumors affecting the entire cord from the cervicomedullary junction to the conus are termed "holocord tumors". Ependymomas are the most frequent intramedullary tumor in adults. Holocord ependymoma is an exceedingly rare condition. ⋯ Besides, cysts are common feature of all spinal ependymomas. There was a solid mass not accompanied by a cyst a any level in our patient's tumor. To the authors' best knowledge, a pure solid mass not accompanied by a cyst has not been previously reported with holocord ependymoma cases.

This article aims to describe an extraordinary complication of a ventriculoperitoneal shunt system that formed a knot spontaneously and lead to a shunt malfunction. A 3-year-old male patient was operated due to posttraumatic hydrocephalus. After an uneventful follow-up period of 34 months, he presented with shunt malfunction. ⋯ Migration to body cavities is among the most interesting ones. This is the fifth report describing this rare complication. Hydrocephalic patients should be closely followed up after shunt surgery for various extraordinary complications.

Long-term benefit of bilateral subthalamic deep brain stimulation on camptocormia in Parkinson's disease.
We report the case of a 63-year-old female with a long history of severe Parkinson's disease (PD) and subsequent onset of debilitating camptocormia who underwent successful bilateral subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation surgery (STN DBS). The literature and previous reports are reviewed. The patient history and details of the surgical procedure are reported including the implantable pulse generator (IPG) settings and response to stimulation. ⋯ Comparison and contrast of the current world literature on DBS for camptocormia is reviewed. We discuss the current targets used for DBS in the setting of camptocormia in the cases reported, both PD associated and not associated. The optimal target has yet to be defined and further work on appropriate patient selection is needed.
