To compare the clinical and radiologic outcomes of patients with different 3-dimensional (3D) hemivertebra morphologies undergoing posterior-only hemivertebra resection and fusion. ⋯ For CS patients with unison hemivertebra or discordant hemivertebra, satisfactory radiologic results were obtained by posterior-only hemivertebra resection and fusion. In terms of surgery, the radiologic outcomes of discordant hemivertebra patients were similar to those of unison hemivertebra patients, but discordant hemivertebrae could easily result in longer operation time and more intraoperative blood loss.

Neuroblastoma is a primitive small-round-blue-cell tumor predominately found in pediatric patients. Few cases of neuroblastoma involving the adult spine have been reported. ⋯ Adjuvant differentiating therapy was employed, and curative radiation therapy was used to address the first instance of locoregional recurrence. The patient remains alive with stable disease more than 2 years after his initial diagnosis.

Oligodendroglioma is a rare primary malignant brain tumor that has highly variable clinical outcomes. The aim of this study was to investigate demographics, outcomes, and prognostic factors of all oligodendroglioma cases from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database to build a clinical prognosis model to predict survival time of patients with oligodendroglioma. ⋯ This study was the first to develop a nomogram for predicting overall survival of patients with oligodendroglioma to help clinicians predict patient prognosis accurately and conduct further treatment.

Imaging in patients with Paget's disease of bone is very important clinically to show the presence of Pagetic abnormalities, assess disease progression, and identify adversely affected structures throughout disease course. Abnormalities and progression may be seen on radiographs, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear imaging. Herein, we report a case Paget's disease of bone showing diffuse characteristic pathology using technetium-99m-labelled diphosphonate tracer in bone scintigraphy (nuclear imaging). This case emphasizes the ability of nuclear imaging to rapidly visualize and assess progressive distribution of Pagetic involvement in a patient previously diagnosed with pituitary adenoma and mild Paget's disease of the skull.

The current study seeks to examine the association between chronic opioid use and postoperative outcomes for patients undergoing anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and posterior lumbar fusion (PLF). ⋯ Our analysis using a national administrative database showed that opioid dependence may be associated with worse economic outcomes for patients undergoing ACDF and PLF.
