The purpose of this study is to investigate long-term changes in spinal sagittal balance after microsurgical decompression in lumbar canal stenosis (LCS). ⋯ In LCS, lumbar kyphosis improves and sagittal balance tends to improve after microsurgical decompression. However, after 5 years, adjacent intervertebral degeneration occurs more frequently and sagittal balance begins to deteriorate in about one third of cases.

This study aims to systematically review the management and outcomes of pediatric patients who develop intracranial pseudoaneurysm (IPA) following head trauma or iatrogenic injury. ⋯ IPAs were successfully obliterated, and favorable neurological outcomes were achieved at a high rate regardless of primary treatment strategy. DAE had a higher rate of recurrence than the other treatment groups. Each described treatment method in our review is safe and viable for the treatment of IPAs in pediatric patients.

Dural tail sign and increased caliber of branches of the external carotid artery (ECA) are common findings in meningioma and they have been rarely reported in intra-axial lesions. Anyway, some cases of glioblastoma (GBM) are reported in the literature, mostly superficially localized, characterized by these 2 findings and therefore, misdiagnosed with meningioma. The aim of this study is to verify the prevalence of dural tail sign and hypertrophy of middle meningeal artery (MMA) in a large cohort of GBMs. ⋯ Dural tail sign and hypertrophy of the MMA in superficial GBM are more common than expected. They probably represent reactive rather than a neoplastic infiltration. Knowing these radiological signs may be important in terms of neurosurgery planning and avoiding excessive bleeding. Anyway, this hypothesis should be confirmed by a prospective neurosurgery studio.

Flow-diverter treatments are successful endovascular treatments in protecting important perforating branches during aneurysm treatments. Because these treatments are performed under antiplatelet therapy, acute flow-diverter treatments in ruptured aneurysms are still controversial. Acute coiling followed by flow diversion has emerged as an intriguing and feasible treatment option for ruptured anterior choroidal artery aneurysm treatment. As a single-center retrospective case series study, this study reported the clinical and angiographic results of staged endovascular treatment in patients with a ruptured anterior choroidal aneurysm. ⋯ Staged treatment of ruptured anterior choroidal artery aneurysms with acute coiling and flow-diverter treatment after recovery from subarachnoid hemorrhage is safe and effective. In this series, no cases of rebleeding occurred during the interval between coiling and flow diversion. Staged treatment should be considered a valid option in patients with challenging ruptured anterior choroidal aneurysms.
