Clinical Application of Artificial Intelligence in Prediction of Intraoperative Cerebrospinal Fluid Leakage in Pituitary Surgery: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Postoperative cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage is the leading adverse event in transsphenoidal surgery. Intraoperative CSF (ioCSF) leakage is one of the most important predictive factors for postoperative CSF leakage. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of artificial intelligence (AI) models in predicting ioCSF. ⋯ AI models have demonstrated promising performance for predicting the ioCSF leakage in pituitary surgery and can optimize the treatment strategy.

Structural allograft versus Polyetheretherketone cage in Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion: A Meta-analysis.
Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) cages and structural allografts (SAs) are commonly used in anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF), yet their postoperative results remain uncertain. This meta-analysis was conducted to determine whether there were any differences in outcomes between patients who received these two grafts in ACDF. ⋯ SA demonstrates better fusion and lower subsidence rates than the PEEK cage in ACDF. Nevertheless, SAs and PEEK cages resulted in equally successful postoperative clinical performances.

Rare Aneurysmal Bone Cyst Presentation in the Orbit: A Systematic Review of The Literature with an Illustrative Case Report.
Aneurysmal bone cysts (ABCs) are benign but aggressive vascular lesions within bone. Orbital ABCs, though rare, are clinically significant due to the risk of debilitating symptoms such as vision loss. ⋯ ABCs in the orbit can be challenging, and complete removal of the lesion is essential for achieving optimal patient outcomes.

Comparative Analysis of Somatosensory-evoked Potentials and Transcranial Doppler Ultrasound for Cerebral Ischemia Detection in Carotid Endarterectomy: Insights from Network Meta-Analysis and Clinical Data.
This study aims to compare the diagnostic efficacy of somatosensory-evoked potentials (SEPs) and transcranial Doppler sonography (TCD) for monitoring cerebral tissue ischemia during carotid endarterectomy (CEA) using network meta-analysis and retrospective analysis of clinical data. ⋯ During CEA, SEP appears to provide a slightly more reliable indication of the ischemic condition in cerebral tissues compared to TCD.

Understanding Adult Central Nervous System Hemangioblastomas: meta-analysis of meta-analysis.
Adult hemangioblastomas (HBs) are rare World Health Organization central nervous system (CNS) grade 1 tumors, particularly affecting the posterior cranial fossa. They exhibit a gender bias, impacting men in their fifth and sixth decades of life and manifesting sporadically or as part of von Hippel Lindau disease. Understanding the intricacies of CNS HBs is crucial for clinical decision-making. ⋯ Adult CNS HBs present with diverse characteristics and clinical manifestations. Surgical intervention remains the mainstay treatment; ongoing research into genetic and molecular mechanisms may enhance our understanding of tumor pathology and lead to improved management strategies in the future.
