Rarely do spinal hamartomas receive attention in the literature, and the majority of previous studies consist of case reports. The purpose of this report, then, is to provide a more accurate diagnosis and treatment of spinal hamartomas by presenting the clinical and surgical outcomes of 8 cases. ⋯ Spinal hamartomas are benign, but they are clinically progressive lesions. Pathology is the basis of accurate diagnosis, and complete preoperative evaluation is crucial for providing suitable treatment and prognosis.

Large-bore aspiration catheters (ACs) are used successfully in mechanical thrombectomy (MT). However, tortuous access routes prevent device navigation because of the ledge effect. The AXS Offset Delivery Assist Catheter is designed to reduce the ledge effect. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether the Offset affects AC navigation compared with standard inner microcatheters in MT. ⋯ The AXS Offset delivery assist catheter permitted faster and safer navigation of various ACs to the occlusions compared with standard delivery microcatheters in MT.

Spinal hemangioblastomas are often evaluated with catheter angiography for both workup and treatment planning. We report a unique longitudinal pulse-synchronous bouncing phenomenon observed during their angiographic evaluation and consider the association of pulse-synchronous bouncing with syringomyelia, another pathologic feature associated with hemangioblastomas. ⋯ Though no significant relationship was established between this bouncing behavior and syrinx formation, noted trends included a greater range of motion for cervical lesions and limited motion in tumors abutting the thecal sac.

The National Football League (NFL) has seen increasing scrutiny regarding its management of concussions, especially following an on-field incident involving the Miami Dolphins' quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the 2022 season. We hope to elucidate the recent trends in the diagnosis and management of concussions during the course of 5 NFL seasons from 2019 to 2023. ⋯ Since the start of the 2021 NFL season, an increasing incidence of concussions has been noted; however, there was no change observed in the number of weeks missed after the concussions. Trends in the rates of concussions across the seasons remain largely stable, despite increased scrutiny over concussions in the sport.

The internet, particularly social media, has become a popular resource for learning about health and investigating one's own health conditions. The development of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots has been fueled by the increasing availability of digital health data and advances in natural language processing techniques. While these chatbots are more accessible than before, they sometimes fail to provide accurate information. ⋯ AI-based chatbots are a convenient way for patients and the general public to access medical information. Under such circumstances, medical professionals must ensure that the information provided to chatbot users is accurate and safe.
