Meningiomas are the most frequent primary intracranial tumor. While histological grade and grade of excision are established predictors of recurrence, the predictive ability of other clinical features, such as the role of radical excision of dural attachment and postoperative radiation therapy in intermediate-risk groups, remains unknown. ⋯ WHO grade and Simpson grade are independent predictors of recurrence in meningiomas. Regardless of WHO grade, gross total resection must be performed when possible, and postoperative radiation therapy may be recommended in grade 2 meningiomas.

This study aimed to evaluate the quality and reliability of YouTube videos focusing on unilateral biportal endoscopic spine surgery, a novel technique for spinal decompression in degenerative spinal disease. ⋯ The YouTube videos on unilateral biportal endoscopic spine surgery showed high quality and reliability. However, videos from South Korea were found to have higher educational quality and reliability, while other specifications were similar for all videos. Furthermore, it was determined that videos uploaded more recently and with longer duration were of higher quality.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) with skull fractures parallel to or crossing venous sinuses is a recognized risk factor for traumatic cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (tCVST). Despite the recognition of this traumatic pathology in the literature, no consensus regarding management has been achieved. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of tCVST on TBI outcomes and related complications. ⋯ Unilateral tCVST follows a benign clinical course without associated increased mortality or morbidity. The management of tCVST should be distinct as compared to spontaneous CVST, likely without the need for anticoagulation.

The long-term prognosis of elderly patients with moyamoya disease (MMD) is not fully understood and needs to be elucidated. ⋯ In elderly patients with MMD, MRA progression was not uncommon, especially in asymptomatic patients. Symptomatic patients exhibited a high symptomatic stroke rate, and indirect revascularization seems to be effective at reducing future ischemic stroke in ischemic patients with misery perfusion. Because follow-up events were not uncommon, lifelong follow-up seems necessary for elderly MMD patients, as well as for younger patients.

To investigate whether risk of new vertebral compression fractures (NVCFs) was associated with vicinity to treated vertebrae in percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs). ⋯ The closer vicinity to treated vertebrae in PVP, the higher rate of NVCF at follow-up. However, any clinical, radiologic, or surgical parameters might not matter in this phenomenon of vicinity-related NVCF.
