Correlation Between Pituitary Adenoma Surgery and Anxiety Disorder: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
This study aims to evaluate the impact of surgical intervention on anxiety levels in patients with various types of pituitary adenoma (PA). ⋯ Our analysis revealed no significant difference in anxiety scores pre- and postoperatively. While our findings suggest stability in anxiety levels following surgical intervention, it is imperative to recognize the limitations of the current evidence base. The observed lack of consensus may be influenced by factors such as the heterogeneous nature of the patient population, variations in the characteristics of pituitary adenomas, diverse therapeutic approaches, and potential confounding variables such as pre-existing mental health conditions and coping mechanisms. Further research is warranted to elucidate the nuanced relationship between surgical intervention for PA and anxiety outcomes, considering these complex interactions and employing rigorous methodologies to address potential sources of bias.

Global Disparities in the Presentation and Management of Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (aSAH): A Review and Analysis.
Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is associated with high mortality rates. There is a significant gap in the literature describing global disparities in demographics, management, and outcomes among patients with aSAH. We aimed to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess global disparities in aSAH presentation and management. ⋯ In this analysis, we found similar rates of high-grade SAH hemorrhages in HIC and LIC but a lack of endovascular coil embolization treatments reported in LIC. Additional research and discussion are needed to identify reasons for treatment disparities and intervenable societal factors to improve aSAH outcomes worldwide.

Comparing the Efficacy and Safety of Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic Decompression with Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar Decompression for Lumbar Degenerative Diseases: A Meta-Analysis.
Unilateral biportal endoscopic decompression (UBED) offers the advantages of minimal tissue damage, operational flexibility, and clear visualization, positioning it as an innovative and minimally invasive endoscopic technique. Nevertheless, the clinical evidence supporting the use of UBED in the treatment of degenerative lumbar diseases is limited and conflicting. ⋯ UBED offers superiority in ODI, flexibility, and visual field clarity. Conversely, percutaneous endoscopic lumbar decompression presents advantages in terms of operation duration, blood loss, hospitalization length, and leg VAS score. These factors should be thoroughly considered when selecting a surgical approach.

Neuroendoscopic Surgery versus Stereotactic Aspiration in the treatment of supratentorial intracerebral hemorrhage: a meta-analysis.
Debate persists over the relative merits of neuroendoscopic surgery (NS) compared to stereotactic aspiration (SA) for treating supratentorial intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Consequently, we undertook this meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of NS versus SA. ⋯ NS may hold more advantages over SA in the treatment of supratentorial ICH. However, SA is also an effective and suitable alternative for elderly patients, especially those with multiple comorbidities intolerant to extended surgical procedures. Further high-quality studies are warranted to substantiate our findings in the future.
