Incidence and Risk Factors of Delayed Intracranial Hemorrhage in Anticoagulated Head Trauma Patients: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
This study aims to provide a current and comprehensive analysis of the incidence of delayed intracerebral hemorrhage (dICH) in head trauma patients on oral anticoagulants (ACs) and to evaluate various potential risk factors. ⋯ A low incidence of dICH requires neurosurgical intervention; however, further studies are required to assess the need for other medical management in these patients. Furthermore, selective imaging for high-risk patients could improve care and resource allocation.

Symptomatic and Radiographic Improvement Following Surgery for Posterior Fossa Arachnoid Cysts: Meta-Analysis and Literature Review.
Arachnoid cysts are benign, intradural collections of cerebrospinal fluid that are often asymptomatic but, in rare instances, will grow and may cause symptoms. When these are in the posterior fossa, the symptomatology greatly ranges, and the indications for surgery are not well defined. The objective of this study is to examine radiographic and symptomatic outcomes following surgery for posterior fossa arachnoid cysts (PFAC). ⋯ Although there is a high rate of radiographic improvement for PFAC surgery, there is a wide variety of presenting symptoms with differing postoperative improvement rates. This study reinforces the importance of preoperative counseling regarding symptomatic outcomes for PFAC surgery, with supporting statistical analysis but limited by the sample sizes available.

The International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society aims to establish evidence-based guidelines for single-fraction stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) in treating intracranial cavernous malformations. ⋯ This meta-analysis suggests SRS is an effective intervention for intracranial cavernous malformations, significantly reducing hemorrhage rates and improving seizure outcomes. International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society practice guidelines are provided.

Sole Stenting Versus Stent-Assisted Coiling For Treating Dissecting Posterior Circulation Aneurysms: A Systematic Review And Meta-Analysis.
Among the reconstructive methods for treating dissecting posterior circulation aneurysms, there are stent-assisted coiling (SAC), and sole stenting (SS) therapy. Despite SAC being widely employed when compared to SS, no study systematically analyzed the difference in their outcomes. ⋯ The findings suggest there is no substantial basis for favoring SAC over SS across all cases. Instead, an individualized approach should be considered, according to the patient's characteristics, surgeon skills, and the available material.

Efficacy and safety of C3 laminectomy combined with open-door laminoplasty versus open-door laminoplasty alone: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To evaluate efficacy and safety between C3 laminectomy + open-door laminoplasty and open-door laminoplasty alone. ⋯ Although C3 laminectomy + open-door laminoplasty has theoretic advantages, meta-analysis results show that the 2 surgical procedures are similar in terms of clinical symptoms improvement, sagittal balance, and complications. C3 laminectomy combined + open-door laminoplasty is superior only in the preservation of cervical lordosis. The limited number of studies may affect the reliability and generalizability of the results. Future high-quality, multicenter randomized controlled trials are needed to verify efficacy and safety.
