Pediatric spontaneous intracranial dissecting aneurysms are rare, but systematic studies comparing hemorrhagic and ischemic presentations are lacking. This study addresses gaps in understanding their epidemiology, clinical presentation, management, and outcome. ⋯ Pediatric intracranial dissecting aneurysms, particularly hemorrhagic cases, are associated with severe neurologic deficits and higher perioperative complications. Despite similar long-term outcomes, hemorrhagic cases require prolonged hospitalization, increasing treatment costs. Optimizing management strategies for pediatric intracranial dissecting aneurysms, especially those with hemorrhagic features, is essential to improve outcomes and reduce healthcare expenditures.

Double lumen balloon catheters (DLBCs) have emerged as a potential alternative to single lumen balloon catheters for endovascular embolization of arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and dural arteriovenous fistulas (dAVFs). This study describes our preliminary experience with the Eclipse 2L DLBC in treating AVMs and dAVFs. ⋯ Our preliminary experience using the Eclipse 2L balloon catheter for Onyx embolization reported procedural outcomes comparable to other DLBCs despite relatively higher procedure times and radiation doses. Further long-term studies on its efficacy as primary modality in treating AVMs and dAVFs are encouraged.

The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of central obesity on spinal sagittal balance in adults aged 18 and older by examining correlations between waist circumference (WC) and abdominal circumference (AC) and spinopelvic alignment parameters. ⋯ The findings highlight the impact of central obesity on spinal alignment and emphasize the importance of considering central obesity in clinical assessments of spinal pathologies. Further research is essential to better understand the relationship between obesity, spinal sagittal balance, and related health conditions.

The aim of the current study was to compare the incidence of postoperative complications among minimally invasive surgery (MIS) tubular, endoscopic, and robot-assisted transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) techniques. ⋯ The current study demonstrated that tubular, endoscopic, and robot-assisted TLIF procedures had similar complication rates. The tubular MIS TLIF reported fewer new neurologic symptoms compared with endoscopic and robot-assisted TLIF procedures at 2 weeks postoperative, with all groups declining in symptom persistency at later time intervals. Average Visual Analog Scale scores continuously improved up to 1 year postoperatively among all groups.

Routine evaluation and surveillance imaging after pituitary adenoma (PA) endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal resection (EETS) is a neurosurgical practice to identify tumor recurrence. This study aims to identify social and clinical factors that may contribute to patients missing their initial 1-year follow-up appointment and provide guidance for targeted education to improve patient adherence with postoperative treatment plans, ultimately reducing unknown adenoma recurrence. ⋯ Risk factors of missed 1-year follow-up appointments after PA resection include male sex, divorced/widowed/separated marital status, older age, and the presence of visual deficits at initial presentation. Increased education efforts can be selectively aimed at these at-risk patient cohorts to improve patient compliance and reduce consequences of undetected tumor recurrence.
