To evaluate variability in aneurysm detection and the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) software as a screening tool by comparing conventional computed tomography angiography (CTA) images (standard care) with AI software. ⋯ AI has the potential to increase the diagnosis of unruptured intracranial aneurysms. However, it must be used as an adjacent tool within the standard of care due to limited applicability in real-world settings.

To summarize the preliminary application experience of intraoperative ultrasound with burr hole probe in minimally invasive neurosurgery and to explore its application value. ⋯ The intraoperative ultrasound with burr hole probe is an effective device for demonstrating intracranial structures. It not only enables minimally invasive and precise diagnosis or treatment of many neurosurgical diseases, but also is simple and safe to operate, which has important promotional value in the neurosurgery.

We retrospectively examined the initial experience and learning curve after the introduction of thrombectomy with the combined technique using an aspiration catheter and a stent retriever as first-line attempt for acute ischemic stroke. ⋯ The learning curve effect of the combined technique may be associated with better clinical outcome due to increased successful recanalization rates, shortened procedure time, and reduced symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage.

Puncture-site complications in interventional radiology sometimes cause severe conditions. Vascular closure devices play an important role in preventing puncture-site complications. Vascular closure devices are divided into 2 types, the directly suturing or clipping type (active approximators) and adherent sealant types (passive approximators). However, which types of vascular closure device are the safest and most effective for achieving hemostasis remains unclear. We analyzed the efficacy of each type of vascular closure device and risk factors for puncture-site complications. ⋯ Passive approximator use in patients with shallow femoral artery depth increases puncture-site complications in neuroendovascular treatment.

Malignant cerebral edema (MCE) is associated with both net water uptake (NWU) and infarct volume. We hypothesized that NWU weighted by the affected Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography Score (ASPECTS) regions could serve as a quantitative imaging biomarker of aggravated edema development in acute ischemic stroke with large vessel occlusion (LVO). The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of weighted NWU (wNWU) to predict MCE in patients with mechanical thrombectomy (MT). ⋯ This study revealed that wNWU at admission can serve as a quantitative predictor of MCE in LVO with successful recanalization after MT and may contribute to the decision for early intervention.
