Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Neuroendoscopic Surgery versus Stereotactic Aspiration in the treatment of supratentorial intracerebral hemorrhage: a meta-analysis.
Debate persists over the relative merits of neuroendoscopic surgery (NS) compared to stereotactic aspiration (SA) for treating supratentorial intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Consequently, we undertook this meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of NS versus SA. ⋯ NS may hold more advantages over SA in the treatment of supratentorial ICH. However, SA is also an effective and suitable alternative for elderly patients, especially those with multiple comorbidities intolerant to extended surgical procedures. Further high-quality studies are warranted to substantiate our findings in the future.

We aimed to describe spinal biomechanics and injury patterns in rowing. ⋯ Rowing has increased in popularity throughout the United States. Up-to-date knowledge of rowing biomechanics and spinal injury patterns is necessary for prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment of the injured rowing athlete.

There has been a growing interest in venous thromboembolism following spinal surgery over the past few years. However, there currently needs to be a bibliometric report on this field. This study aims to construct the knowledge structure of venous thromboembolism after spinal surgery and explores the current status of research productivity, research directions, hotspots, and trends. ⋯ This study constructed the knowledge structure of venous thromboembolism after spinal surgery, revealing current research hotspots and future trends. Future research trends include personalized prevention and treatment strategies for venous thromboembolism after spinal surgery, especially safe and effective chemical prophylaxis. It is hoped that this study can lay the foundation for subsequent research.

Cranial and Spinal Cerebrospinal Fluid Leaks: Foundations of Identification and Management.
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks may occur at the skull base or along the spinal column and can cause a variety of debilitating neurological symptoms for patients. Recognizing the potential presence of a CSF leak and then identifying its source are necessary for accurate diagnosis and definitive treatment. ⋯ This review paper provides an overview of epidemiology, pathophysiology, and diagnostic workup for CSF leaks and introduces available treatment options. An illustrative case of a skull base CSF leak demonstrating diagnosis and surgical correction is provided.

Spinal Intramedullary Meningiomas: A Systematic Review with A Case Illustration.
Intramedullary meningiomas are an exceptionally rare subtype of spinal tumors, accounting for only 5% of primary spinal neoplasms. Given their scarcity and unique characteristics, understanding optimal management approaches is crucial for improved clinical decision-making. This systematic review aims to consolidate existing literature and present a detailed case illustration to enhance understanding of this uncommon spinal tumor entity. ⋯ Intramedullary meningiomas pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges due to their rarity and unique characteristics. Tailored surgical approaches, incorporating techniques such as intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring and fluorescence-aided resection, are crucial for minimizing neurological deficits and optimizing patient outcomes. Despite their infrequency, recognizing intramedullary meningiomas in the differential diagnosis of spinal tumors is essential for prompt diagnosis and timely intervention, ultimately improving patient prognosis.
