Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a paroxysmal, unilateral, brief, shock-like pain in ≥1 divisions of the trigeminal nerve. It can result from multiple causes; however, TN secondary to stroke is very rare. ⋯ Our case and literature review demonstrate durable and effective treatment with SRS, which can be considered a safe and effective treatment option for patients with stroke-associated TN.

Our objective was to assess the effect of race on outcomes in patients undergoing anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF). ⋯ Racial disparities were found to independently affect rates of complications after surgery for ACDF.

Two neighboring spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas with multiple bridging veins drainage.
Two neighboring spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas (SDAVFs) with multiple bridging veins drainage are extremely rare. Here, we report a 55-year-old man with 2 neighboring SDAVFs at the levels of T4-T5 supplied by the right T5 intercostal artery (common stem of T4 and T5 arteries) with multiple draining veins. ⋯ This case demonstrated the complex microscopic angioarchitecture features of 2 neighboring SDAVFs with multiple draining veins. Although these complex SDAVFs are extremely rare, the clinicians should be aware of the possibility of 2 neighboring SDAVFs.

Neurogenic bladder is a common complication after spinal cord injury (SCI) that carries substantial burdens on the inflicted individual. The objective of this study is to build a prediction model for neurogenic bladder recovery 1 year after traumatic SCI. ⋯ We developed a prediction model for the probability of complete bladder recovery 1 year after SCI. The model performed with a high discriminative capacity. This prediction model demonstrates potential utility in the counseling, research allocation, and management of individuals with SCI.

The main treatment for moyamoya disease (MMD) is revascularization surgery. Most bypasses use the superficial temporal artery (STA) as the donor vessel. However, even if the STA-middle cerebral artery (MCA) bypass is functioning, the affected hemisphere can continue to be symptomatically malperfused. We sought to assess the efficacy of salvage direct revascularization surgery using the occipital artery (OA) as a donor vessel in patients with ischemic MMD who experience continued cerebral malperfusion despite previous successful STA-MCA bypass. ⋯ Patients with ischemic MMD who have continued symptoms and cerebral malperfusion despite previous successful STA-MCA bypass present a challenging clinical scenario. Our series highlights the potential utility of the OA-MCA direct bypass as a salvage therapy for these patients.
