Multicenter Study
Oversizing of the Woven EndoBridge for treatment of intracranial aneurysms improves angiographic results.
Several studies have demonstrated a high safety and efficacy profile of the Woven EndoBridge (WEB) for endovascular aneurysm treatment. However, contemporary large-scale studies of the WEB are rare. This multicenter study attempts to set a benchmark for state-of-the-art WEB treatment with consistent application of the WEB oversizing technique. ⋯ Oversizing the WEB and using currently available WEB types in this series resulted in slightly better treatment outcomes compared to early WEB studies, confirming the high safety, feasibility, and efficacy of this technique.

To retrospectively analyze prognostic factors in osteoporotic patients who treated with percutaneous vertebroplasty for refracture after vertebral augmentation. ⋯ Occurrence of postoperative back pain was strongly associated with AVH loss after surgery. Patients with a lower rate of AVH loss had a lower incidence of postoperative back pain and a better prognosis.

The Combination Adenovirus + Pembrolizumab to Trigger Immune Virus Effects (CAPTIVE) study is a phase II clinical trial testing the efficacy of a recombinant adenovirus DNX-2401 combined with the immune checkpoint inhibitor pembrolizumab. Here, we report the first patients in this study who underwent viral delivery through real-time magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) stereotaxis-guided SmartFlow convection delivery of DNX-2401. ⋯ Our pilot case series supports compatibility of the SmartFlow system with oncolytic adenovirus delivery and provides the basis for future validation studies.

Gliomas continue to have a dismal prognosis. A myriad of genetic alterations has been described in this subset of tumors over the last decades. The integrative interpretation of the biomarker constellation for individual patients remains unclear. This study aims to evaluate the impact of some known genetic factors as prognostic biomarkers in grade 4 gliomas. ⋯ TERTp mutation and IDH-wildtype status were associated with worse OS and PFS and lower follow-up KPS score in surgically resected gliomas, while MGMT and EGFR status did not have considerable prognostic value in this study.

Only a few studies have investigated the gap range of motion (gROM) in cervical myelopathy or deformity caused by ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL). The aim of this study is to investigate the correlation between the individual gROM and the postoperative clinical outcomes of patients with OPLL. ⋯ Simultaneous circumferential decompression and fixation is an effective surgical option for patients with cervical myelopathy caused by OPLL. A higher rate of postoperative C5 palsy was observed in the patients with greater gROMs after surgery, although all patients presented with similar clinical improvements.
