To investigate the effects of body weight support treadmill training (BWSTT) and sciatic nerve electrical stimulation (SNES) on motor function recovery in spinal cord injury (SCI) rats and its possible mechanism. ⋯ This experiment demonstrated that BWSTT combined with SNES contributed to alleviating spinal cord tissue injury, delaying muscle atrophy and improving locomotion. One of the possible mechanisms may be related to the regulation of the BDNF/TrkB signaling pathway, which changes the expression of PI3K/Akt protein. Furthermore, it was discovered that the ultra-early BWSTT may not be conducive to recovery.

The current standard of care for patients with glioblastoma (GBM) is maximal safe resection followed by adjuvant radiation therapy with concurrent temozolomide chemotherapy. Previous studies that identified this treatment regimen focused on younger patients with GBM. The proportion of patients with GBM over the age of 80 years is increasing. We investigate whether elderly patients benefit from the current standard of care with additional maximal safe resection. ⋯ For elderly patients with KPS >70, GTR followed by radiation and temozolomide is associated with maximum OS.

Cavernous sinus hemangiomas (CSHs) are infrequent benign neoplasms. This meta-analysis was conducted with the objective of examining the prognostic outcomes of surgical interventions and radiotherapy (RT) in patients diagnosed with CSHs. ⋯ The results of this meta-analysis underscore that RT is an effective and safe treatment modality for CSHs. Furthermore, the prognostic outcomes of RT demonstrated superiority over surgical intervention.

Although lumbar disc herniation (LDH) patients' sciatic symptoms such as leg pain can be improved by decompressive surgery, some patients report postoperative aggravated low back pain (LBP). However, the exact reason for this phenomenon remained unknown. ⋯ A preoperative lower LBP VAS score and moderate-to-severe MFA were associated with postoperative aggravated LBP. This will provide important guidance for patient's preoperative assessment and education.

Endoscopic surgery has become the preferred treatment of sellar lesions because of its minimally invasive nature. Visualization is frequently obscured as a result of the frequent contact of the lens with blood and tissue debris. We seek to alleviate these problems and increase the efficiency and safety of neuroendoscopic surgery by introducing a new device (Saraj Endocath) combining the major function of suction with the endoscope. ⋯ The use of the Saraj Endocath can effectively reduce the mean operative time by decreasing the frequency of in-out movement and wiping off the lens of the endoscope. It reduces fatigue, avoids clustering of instruments and hands, and minimizes the dependency on assistants.
